It is probable that this map is related to a plan to develop a new Kojo rice field, since it shows a planned embankment (vermilion dotted line) around the reed community (light green area) on the tidelands in Kojima. The map roughly shows water channels, including the Hachikago channel. This implies that securing a water supply was a great challenge in the development of the Kojo rice field. Slips of paper pasted onto the map also contain many notes concerning water channels and drains.
