Description4 This map shows a plan to develop a new rice field in front of Matsuzaki village. The vermilion line drawn in front of the village represents an embankment. A slip of paper attached there indicates that the area within the embankment would be converted into a new rice field. The development work began in 1662 and was completed in the next year. The map also shows other new rice fields, including the Kasai and Fukuyoshi fields developed in 1647, along with the Kaimen, Maruyama, and Nakayama fields, all located in Jodo district.
