Description4 This map shows three new rice fields completed in 1679 in Kurata. Different colors are used to represent the three rice fields, from east to west: Kuramasu, Kuratomi, and Kurata. Fifty farmers settled in the new rice fields. The map depicts 51 farmhouses with thatched roofs. According to the land survey conducted in 1687, the total land area of the three fields exceeded 271 cho (approx. 2,687,603 m2) with the total rice yield estimated to be more than 5,004 koku.
