This map shows a plan to develop a new rice field by reclaiming the sea. The development area was expanded from the initial plan. The map shows the embankment on the shoreline stretching from east to west, together with a water channel in the center. According to the plan, drained water would be collected in a large reservoir before being discharged into the sea. The Hyakken River is drawn on the map in a very rough manner. Close study of this drawing reveals the relationship between the offshore reclamation and the water supply plan for the entire Jodo district. |
