Description4	This map shows a plan to construct the Kurayasu Canal (also known as the Funadoshi Canal). The planned new section of the canal is drawn in yellow. The map was prepared before the development of three new rice fields in Kurata. The planned sites of new rice fields are sketched in on the map. The attached document is a written estimate of the construction work. According to the estimate, the distance of the planned new sections of the canal would be 1,324 ken (approx. 2.383 km), with the total distance of the canal from its sluice gate at the Yoshii River (in Yoshii village) to the Asahi River (in Hirai village) measuring 9,008 ken (approx. 16.214 km). The total manpower required for the project would be more than 32,400 workers.
