This map on a long scroll depicts the Kurayasu Canal from the upstream to the downstream sections, showing the locations of sluice gates, underdrains, bridges, and other facilities. Close to the left end of the scroll, the map’s month and year of production are stipulated as the fourth month of the third year of the Ansei era (1856). A note on a slip of paper attached to the map indicates that this drawing was in the custody of the Tsuda family. |
