Title Alternative The Implementation of China’ s Children Learning in Regular Classrooms (LRC) in Special Needs Education and Its Challenge

Abstract We introduce a new digital workflow to fabricate a fixed partial denture (FPD) utilizing the three-dimensional surface morphology of provisional restoration (PR) and abutment teeth. Scanned images of the full maxilla with abutment teeth, full maxilla with PR, and PR alone were superimposed. The surfaces of the final FPD were designed based on the entire morphology of the PR and abutment teeth surfaces. The inner and outer surfaces converged at the margin lines of the abutment teeth. Fine modifications to the final FPD design were performed manually, and the final FPD was fabricated and successfully installed in the patient.

Title Alternative Propagation characteristics and method of appropriate management of invasive alien species Iris pseudacorus L.
FullText URL srfa_111_021_025.pdf
Author Nakashima, Yoshitaka|
Abstract To establish a proposal for a guiding principle supporting appropriate management of Iris pseudacorus L., which had been used as an important vegetation bank species until the Invasive Alien Species Act, this study investigated propaga-tion characteristics. The seed in which seed coat cracked germinated earlier, and it was shown that their cumulative germination percentage was high even under 30 °C constant conditions. When the fresh weight of the rhizome cut pieces in the spring became greater than 15 g, the individual plant flowering rate increased gradually. Individuals of more than 30 g achieved a flowering rate higher than 76 %. The flow-ering rate was highest for individual plants that had two green leaves, but it became progressively lower for increas-ing numbers of green leaves:non-flowering individuals grew better than flowering individuals. In the 0 cm height scape-cutting treatment, no significant difference was found in the numbers of flowers and fruits the next year. In the 5 cm height top-cutting treatment, the flowers and fruits in the next year were significantly fewer.

Abstract WHO has recommended various measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including mask-wearing and physical distancing. However, these changes impair communication for individuals with hearing loss. We investigated the changes in auditory communication associated with COVID-19 measures in 269 patients (male: 45.7%, female: 54.3%, median age: 54 y.o.). Most patients with hearing loss had difficulty engaging in auditory communication with people wearing masks, especially in noisy surroundings or with physical distanc-ing. These difficulties were noticeable in patients with severe hearing loss. Developing communication support strategies for people with hearing loss is an urgent need while COVID-19 measures are in place.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate whether there are differences in the attitudes and practices of cancer pain manage-ment between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians. An online nationwide survey was used to collect responses from board-certified medical oncologists and palliative care physicians in Japan. The survey questionnaire comprised 30 questions. The differences in responses between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians were examined. Out of the 1,227 questionnaires sent, 522 (42.5%) were returned. After apply-ing the exclusion criteria, 445 questionnaires (medical oncologists: n = 283; palliative care physicians: n = 162) were retained for analysis. Among the questions about potential barriers to optimal cancer pain man-agement, both medical oncologists and palliative care physicians considered the reluctance of patients to take opioids due to fear of adverse effects as the greatest barrier. Significantly different ratings between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians were observed on 5 of the 8 questions in this area. Significantly differ-ent ratings were observed for all questions concerning pain specialists and their knowledge. For effective cancer pain management, it is important to account for differences in attitudes and practice between medical oncolo-gists and palliative care physicians.

Abstract It is necessary to assess functional impairment when treating schizophrenia. The World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS 2.0) has been adopted as a measure of functional disability in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition. This study was a secondary analysis from a cross-sectional study of health-related behaviors among patients with schizophrenia. We examined the validity and reliability of the Japanese version of the 12-item WHODAS 2.0 when self-administered by such patients. Participants were 350 outpatients with schizophrenia from a psychiatric hospital. The standard six-factor structure of the WHODAS 2.0 showed a good fit for these participants. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.858, showing good internal consistency. The WHODAS 2.0 showed moderate correlations with the modified Global Assessment of Functioning and Kessler 6 scales (r=−0.434 and 0.555, respectively). The results of this study show that the Japanese version of the 12-item self-administered WHODAS 2.0 has good internal consistency and convergent validity among patients with schizophrenia. Further exploration of the usefulness of WHODAS 2.0 in clinical settings is needed.
