抄録	This study aimed to develop a scale to measure the perceived difficulty experienced by nurses in treating and caring for patients diagnosed with gender dysphoria and examine its reliability and validity. We developed a 26-item preliminary scale through discussions with experts in gender dysphoria treatment. We administered a questionnaire including this scale to 1,010 nurses working at Okayama University Hospital and analyzed the data of 346 nurses who had been involved in the treatment of gender dysphoria and had no missing responses. 　A total of 20 items consisting of two factors, “relationship building” and “negative emotion for gender dysphoria,” were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and we used them in the final version of the scale. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the entire scale was 0.879, indicating a high degree of internal consistency. 　However, the correlations with a communication skills scale (ENDCOREs) and the Scale of Gender Conception were limited, and the external validity could not be proven. This scale may be useful for evaluating nursing practice and educational support for nurses; however, there is room for further study on the scale validation.

抄録	本研究では，動詞に含意されない表現であっても，結果を表す表現（結果表現）として解釈できるものを対象に，結果表現の成立および意味構造を考察した。「花瓶を粉々に割った」のような動詞に含意される結果表現と比べ，動詞に含意されない結果表現は，非生産的で，動作主の目的達成や意図のもとに生じた客観的な状態である。また，状態変化動詞だけでなく，市変化動詞，作成動詞，料理に関する活動動詞にも結果表現が認められた。続いて，このような記述的な観察をもとに，動詞に含意されない結果表現がどのように意味構造で生起が保証されるのか，概念構造における規定を試みた。動詞に含意されない結果表現は算出面，意味的側面，構造面で高い非典型が認められた。

The Novel Eryngii Method of Nipple Reduction for Female-to-Male Transsexuals

抄録	Nosaka, NobuyukiMastectomy is usually the first and most important surgical procedure in female-to-male (FTM) individuals with gender identity disorder. Nipple reduction is also important in the process of reconstructing the chest wall for a more male appearance. If the nipples remain large after a mastectomy, the results may be disappointing to many FTM transsexuals. Nipple reduction enables these individuals to go to the beach or Japanese public baths, where they may go topless in public. We therefore consider that nipple reduction is indicated for all FTM transsexuals who desire it. There are a variety of methods for the reduction of enlarged nipples for women or non-FTM patients, but only a few reports have described the process used to create masculine-appearing nipples for FTM transsexuals. We developed a novel technique called the Eryngii method for creating male-like nipples using a 4-mm diameter dermal punch knife. The name of the method refers to the Eryngii king trumpet mushroom, which the nipple resembles after the surgical process. The main strength of this method is that it permits the creation of ideal nipples without difficulty. Here we introduce the technique and discuss our history of surgical methods for nipple reduction, including improvements and elaborations.

抄録	To perform computed tomography （CT）/magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） scans safely and reliably, adherence to a pre-scan checklist is crucial. However, physicians and nurses may differ in their recognition of the usefulness of this checklist. We conducted the present study to investigate possible differences between physicians’ and nurses’ awareness of CT/MRI scan safety in terms of their adherence to the pre-scan checklist.　We prepared an independently developed self-administered 23-item questionnaire about attributes of subjects, CT/ MRI scan safety recognition and current situation for CT/MRI examinations.　The survey was distributed to 468 participants who combined nurses and physicians at Okayama University Hospitalin Okayama, Japan. We analysis the responses of the 224 participants （117 nurses and 107 physicians）who returned the survey with on missing data （a 65.1% completion rate）. The overall safety recognition scores were significantly higher for the nurses than for the physicians （p＜0.001）. In addition, the physicians did not sufficiently know or implement the guidelines in the CT/MRI scan safety manual used at our hospital. Nurses and physicians demonstrated marked differences in their awareness and knowledge of safety regarding CT/MRI scans. Measures for improving safety recognition should thus be designed for individual healthcare occupations.

抄録	21世紀になって2017年までに，34件のノーベル生理学・医学賞と化学賞が出ているが，その約半数の研究に培養細胞（動物の細胞，あるいは，イースト）が使われている．すなわち，現代の生命科学の研究には，培養細胞がきわめて大きな役割を果たしているといえる．今回は，今から約100年前，細胞を培養して研究を進めようとした先見性に富んだ 2人のノーベル生理学・医学賞受賞者，Alexis Carrel（以下，本文ではカレルとする）と Peyton Rous（以下，ラウス）の経歴と業績を紹介し，彼等の培養細胞との係りについて述べる．
