| 抄録 | Throughout its long history, the English Language has produced a wide variety of terms applied to men and/or woman, most of which are found in address forms in spoken language. Literary authors make an effective use of different terms as variation, whether abusive or endearing, to have their works reflect the colloquial language of their days. Eighteenth-century British literary works can be valuable materials for us to analyse linguistic features. The present artice aims at examining the terms of abuse in Richardson Pamela (1740) from a historical perspective. A comparative discussionis made, where necessary, on two contemporary literary works from the same perspective, in the hope of sketching out the semantic history of each term and exploring one phase of colloquialism in those days. |

| 抄録 | Major literary works are, as is generally admitted, a mirror in which multiple currents of any particular age are faithfully reflected. Upon reading Goldsmith's The Vicar of Wakefield (hereafter referred to as The Vicar, 1766), one cannot resist an impression that this is especially true of the work. What strikes us is a pervasive atmosphere of harmony between man and nature and a keen sense of poetry to be enjoyed heartily in the characters' daily life. These are reflected in the narration by Primrose the protagonist and Anglican clergyman. True we see in the work signs of an uneasy relationship between the haves and the have-nots due in part to the abuse of power by the former at the sacrifice of the latter; and due in part to the age's legacy of surviving brutality, the miserable condition of life, and the resulting social ills in the lower order of society. Also, we discern in it signs of the incipient decay of the traditional village community. Still, the village life retains its wholeness and integrity in the fabric of a close-knit human network based on its agricultural way of life. |

| 抄録 | The folloeing results were revealed regarding the current status and changes in domestic cleaning, from the interviews conducted in the four traditional residential areas surveyed during 1985 through 1987. (1) Daily cleaning was carried out mainly on daily used rooms, and the span of the daily cleaned area tended to decrease. Except for "kado-haki" (house-front cleaning) in Kyoto, such cleaningjobs were carried out after breakfast. (2) Domestic cleaning was considered to be a duty and the concept of contracting progessionals from outside the household was unthinkable. (3) Since the residences built in the conventional construction method were surveyed, continuous cleaning habits generated luster in lumber used in the flooring, pillars and lattices, which made it easier to remove stains. The residents lived in the houses with loving care. |

| 抄録 | 本研究では、岡山大学教育学部付属幼稚園が実施ししている体力・運動能力テストから、1992年、2006年およびその中間年にあたる1999年のデータを用いて15年間の推移を明らかにすることを目的とした。幼児の体力・運動能力について、加齢の影響や性差が確認できた。また、体力・運動能力に個人差が大きいことが幼児期の特徴とされるが、体力の構成要素による差異が明らかとなった。多くの測定項目で15年間における低下および不変が確認できた。幼稚園児の体力・運動能力が長期的に低い状況を維持していることは、小学生・中学生の体力・運動能力が低下傾向を続けているとする報告と年代的にも同じであった。これらのことから、子どもを取り巻く生活環境の変化による運動経験や活動量の減少は、幼児期からの幅広い年代における体力・運動能力の低下に影響を及ぼすと考えられた。 |

| 抄録 | オーストリアの前期中等教育段階における物理教育の現状を、前段階である初等教育段階の科学(理科)教育との関連性の視座に立ち、学習指導要領、教科書などから、明らかにした。オーストリアの前期中等教育段階における物理教育は、独立した教科書を設けて行われている。一方、初等教育段階における物理教育は、「事象教授」の枠内で行われているとみなせる。学習目標は両段階とも知識理解だけに限定していない点で共通しているが、その性格や範囲が異なっている。学習内容に至っては、前期中等教育段階では思考方法、社会における位置づけなども扱う一方で、初等教育段階ではほぼ力学だけであり、量的にも少なく、一貫性や関連性が図れていると言い難い。 |

| 抄録 | 本研究は、現代社会に対する認識を深めることを目指した社会科歴史の単元開発を目指したものである。そのために、本研究においては、現代、政治の場において問題となっている政策課題を取り上げ、その起源を追及させることを通して現代政治をよりよく理解させるとともに、生徒に問題解決への自分なりの見通しを持たせるように授業を構成している。取り上げた政策課題は領土問題であり、具体的には日韓の間で議論となっている「竹島問題」を扱った。開発した単元は、特定の主義・主張を教え込むのではなく、公立な立場から政策問題について思考・判断させ、自主的な思想形成を促すものと評価され得るものである。 |

| 抄録 | 本研究は、開発した単元「森林と大気と生活」の学習書に基づいて実施した実験授業の結果を分析、考察したものである。実験授業の結果、問題集、作文、推せん課題レポート、プリテスト、ポストテスト等のデータを得ることができた。これらのデータ分析・考察することによって、開発した学習書が個別学習用教材として適切であったか、どのような社会認識を形成したか、実験授業によって社会認識がどのように変化したか、その理由は何かなどを明らかにすることを目的としている。本稿は、問題編の問題群への回答の分析と考察を行い、どのよう社会認識が形成されたかを明らかにした。 |

| 抄録 | 青年の職業忌避的傾向に影響する要因について検討するため、大学生男女312名を対象に調査を行った。調査内容は、職業忌避的傾向、進路決定効力感、就業不安定等であった。収集したデータをもとに、男女別に、「進路決定効力感→就業不安」および「進路決定効力感および就業不安→職業忌避的傾向」を仮説的モデルとしてパス解折を行った。その結果、男子の場合、自己評価および困難解決にかかる効力感の低さが就業不安に、また、自己評価および計画立案にかかわる効力感の低さが職業忌避的傾向に影響を及ぼしていること、一方、女子の場合、自己評価、職業情報収集、困難解決にかかわる効力感の低さが就業不安に、また、計画立案にかかわる効力感の低さと就業不安が職業忌避的傾向に影響を及ぼしていることが示された。 |

| 抄録 | 異文化理解教育を国際理解教育の重要な一分野と位置づけ、小学校、中学校、高等学校における異文化理解教育に焦点を当てて論じる。文化の定義や文化の分類についての議論から始め、異文化理解教育の実践に必要な文化要素とは何かについて考察し、目に見える外面的文化要素と目に見えない内面的文化要素の両方に関して、具体的に文化要素を提案する。さらに、内面的文化要素の選択に関連して、日本人の大学生54名と英語母語話者3名にそれぞれアンケート用紙による調査、インタビューによるアンケート調査を実施して、調査結果について簡単な分析を試みている。 |

| 抄録 | Samuel Richardson played an important role in the early history of British vovels. He described women's inner feelings in epistolary form with such vividness and delicacy as was never practiced by any of his predecessors. In examinig Richardson's style of his epistolary novels, therefore, we should not pass over his skillful use of emotional words. Actually, the lexical features serve as an essential constituent to make his works more interesting and appealing; for his "most characteristic linguistic innovation was in vocabulary," as Ian Wattaptly suggests in his The Rise of the Novel. The present paper aims at analyzing the lexical features in Richardson's Pamela mainly from the perspective of 'word-formation.' Various compound words in the novel, along with their derivatives, are discussed in comparison with those found in its contemporary literary works. |

| 抄録 | we look closely at George Eliot's essays and book reviews, it dawns upon us that biblical criticism was one of the few central concerns she held consistently over her years of essay and review writing. Already in 1851 she exhibited a formidable knowledge of the critical study of the Bible as we see its best fruit in the reviews entitled "R.W.Marckay's The Progress of Christendom." These are powerful enough testimonies to make us realize that her historical study of the Bible was a mirror in which her path of self-discovery had been reflected. Naturally enough we can see in them Marian's (earlier George Eliot's) mature thoughts on religion and science. And these, as some of the major critics of the age agree, represent the voice of the nineteenth century. |

| 抄録 | こんにゃくの伝統的製造法において、凝固剤に草木灰の「灰汁」を利用してきた。その代替として、農家では「炭酸ナトリウム」が利用される。今日、一般に利用されている「水酸化カルシウム」が何故用いられないかについて、こんにゃくの物性特性に及ぼうす影響を、とくに、「のり」のゲル化特性と「飛粉」との関わりを中心に検討し、考察した。凝固剤「炭酸ナトリウム」は、芋こんにゃく特有の表面のやわらかい弾力と粘性と硬さを有する物性を形成し、この特性は、とくに「飛粉」が混在する場合において顕著に発現することが明らかになった。それは凝固剤「灰汁」のゲル化特性と極めて類似していた。また、「灰汁」は使用する濃度によって、物性特性が大きく影響されないが、「炭酸ナトリウム」においても同様の特性を示し、いわゆる、「のり」の状態によって凝固剤使用量を加減することが可能な、使いやすさの利点が「灰汁」と類似していることも明らかになった。このような特徴は、「水酸化カルシウム」を凝固剤とした場合、「飛粉」混在で物性が低下し、使用濃度によっても影響されるなど、「炭酸ナトリウム」「灰汁」と異なる挙動を示すことが明らかになった。また、「のり」の物性についての検討からも、こんにゃくに及ぼす影響に反映していることが認められた。凝固剤のゲル化の形成と特性にpH以外の要因として、「飛粉」が重要な作用を果たしていることが示唆された。 |

| 抄録 | 長崎春榮氏が実践した「小合科学習（家事）」の「食物の目的」では、当時使用されていた教科書の記述内容に沿ったカリキュラムを組織し、それを木下の「学習法」の理論で実践していたが、そこで子どもが獲得した知識のレベルは低いものであった。一方、鶴居滋一氏が実践した「小合科学習（地理）」の「中国地方」では、長崎氏と同じく、当時の地理科の教科書の記述内容に沿って授業を構成し、それを木下の「学習法」の理論で実践していたが、教師が計画した内容をほぼ完全に子どもに獲得させることができていた。この違いは、カリキュラムの質の差と教師の力量に起因していると考えられた。 |

| 抄録 | 本研究では、障害者スポーツの中でも最も人気が高く、競技人口の多い競技のうちの１つである車椅子バスケットボール選手を対象にアンケート調査を実施し、競技力向上の手がかりと食生活に関する調査を行い、障害者スポーツ選手のサポート・食生活のあり方について検討することを目的とした。その結果、1)車椅子バスケットボール実施者、競技水準が上がるにつれて年齢は下がっている傾向がみられた、2)車椅子バスケットボール実施理由を「競技志向」、「健康志向」、「きっかけづくり」と3因子に分類したとき「競技志向」と競技水準には有意な相関がみられた、3)「栄養・食生活に関するサポート」と競技水準とについて有意な相関がみられ、競技水準の高いものが栄養・食生活に関する意識が高い傾向がみられた。 |

| 抄録 | The purpose of this study was to clarify physical fitness(PF) characteristics of obese and lean adolescent classified by combining somatotype, and body composition. Somatotype were measured by obesity index from weight and height measurement. Body composition given as percentage body fat was calculated by measuring skinfold thickness. The measurement of PF consisted of 12 tests. In addition, comparison were made in each somatotype group between the high percentage body fat group and the normal group. PF were lower in overweight or underweight group than in normalweight group. At overweight and normalweight groups, the high percentage body fat group attained scored lower in most PF test items. However, at underweight group, normal percentage body fat group attained scored lower in 6-7 items. |

| 抄録 | 小学校理科における安全学習は、どのように扱われているのだろう。本研究ではその一端を明らかにするために、学習指導要領及び教科書の、安全学習に関する記述の調査と分析を行った。その結果、学習指導要領では、「安全」は教科の目標や内容には位置づけられていないことが分かった。また、教科書では、実験器具の適切な使用方法についての「指示」や危険を回避するための「禁止」を文意とする記述が、全体の8割近くを占めることが分かった。これらの結果をもとに、現状の小学校理科における安全学習に潜む問題の可能性を指摘するとともに、新たな視点に基づく安全指導の在り方を考察する。 |

| 抄録 | オーストリアの初等教育段階における科学教育、教科「事象教授」の中の領域「自然」「技術」に焦点を当て、その次段階、前期中等教育段階の教科「生物・環境」との関連性の観点に立ち、学習指導要領、教科書などから、目標・内容、現に示されている生物の現状を明らかにした。学習目標・学習内容において一貫性が見られず、さらに教科書への具体性の程度が低く、また「生物の多様性」に関して配慮するレベルも異なり、教科書に示されている生物には違いがあるものの規則性は見いだせず、結局、教科「生物・環境」の前段階として意識されているとは言い難い。 |
