多文化共生の視点から見た中国の中等社会科系教科の特質―中学校地理及び歴史教科書の記述分析を通して―

中国は人口の多数を占める漢民族と 55 の少数民族によって構成された多民族・多文化国家である。このような状況を踏まえて，中国では民族意識の形成を中心に，国内の複数の文化の共生を重視した教育が行われている。そこでは，ナショナル・アイデンティティの形成を保証するため，大多数を占める漢民族と 55 の少数民族，そして華僑に対して「中華民族」という総称を設けた。本研究では，多文化共生を目指す中国の教育において，漢民族と少数民族がどのように描かれているかを明らかにする。それによって，中国が目指す多文化共生教育の特質を明らかにする。そのために，先行研究として米国の教育学者バンクスの多文化教育論を検討した。バンクスの多文化教育論を踏まえた時，中国の中学校地理と歴史の教科書記述における民族の取り扱いにはどのような特質があるか，多文化共生の視点からどのように評価されるかを明らかにする。

China is a multi-ethnic and multicultural country. Han Chinese makes up the majority of Chinese population, while there are 55 ethnic minorities. Given this situation, Chinese education focuses on the formation of national consciousness, and emphasizes the coexistence of multiple cultures. In order to ensure the formation of national identity, the term "Chinese nationality" was settled for Han Chinese, other 55 ethnic minorities and Chinese overseas. In this research, we will clarify how Han Chinese and ethnic minorities are portrayed in Chinese education system, which aims for multicultural symbiosis in education. Thus, we will get a clear sense of the characteristics of Chinese multicultural symbiosis education. Therefore，I took up American educator James Bank’s multicultural education theory as a previous research and examined it. And I illustrated the characteristics of how the concept of ethnic groups are depicted in a geography and history textbooks of a secondary school in China from multicultural perspective.
