| 抄録 | In this paper, we examined the landscape and sightseeing at Bittchu-Kokubunji in Okayama prefecture carrying out the questionnaire survey to tourists and local residents. Both tourists and local residents estimate that the landscape ofBittchu-Kokubunji is wonderful, and it has several images such as historical, quiet, and old-fashioned, etc. AlthoughBittchu-Kokubunji is one of the famous tourist resorts in Okayama prefecture, there are quite few tourists compared with the degree of notability. Almost all tourists' age was 50 or more. As more active sightseeing activities, the number of times of holding events, such as an announcement of traditional performing arts, lighting of a five-storied pagoda, photograph or a sketching convention, needs to be increased. An attractive tourist resort should be created by the cooperation of local residents and administration. |

| 抄録 | Recently, competition among universities has a whole new face, and emphasis is given toward interdependence and interactive evolution between universities and regions. From this social perspective, universities should contribute to regional development by serving the regional society using results of intellectual work, and it is necessary for universities to accomplish social contribution and regional cooperation strategically. One of the most important parts in strategic planning is that students participate in activities for social contribution and regional cooperation. This paper presents a survey of the university students’ awareness on social contribution and regional cooperation using several statistical methods and attempts to find factors which affect activities for social contribution and regional cooperation using logistic regression analysis. |

| 抄録 | We review some fundamental results on the basic reproductive ratio of models in epidemiology following several documents. We present the general denition of the basic reproductive ratio and the threshold theorem of for the stability of the disease free equilibrium. All results for non-negative matrices and non singular M-matrices which we need in the denition of the basic reproductive ratio and the proof of the threshold theorem are also presented. All parts of the review are self-contained, and all parts of the proof are given explicitly. |

| 抄録 | 岡山大学は全学の教職課程を担う「教師教育開発センター」を平成22年度に創設し、学部の枠を超えた教員養成教育の質保証に取り組んでいる。教育実習事前事後指導や教育実習ならびに教職実践演習（平成25年度から実施）等を中心とする「全学教職コア・カリキュラム」の企画・運営だけではなく、これらの科目の教育成果とその課題を検証し、FD的視点に基づくカリキュラム開発と改善とを進めている。「母校訪問」とは、教育学部以外の学生（文学部、法学部、経済学部、理学部、工学部、環境理工学部、農学部、マッチングプログラムコース）のうち、改正後の教育職員免許法が適用される平成22 年度以降入学生（現１、２年生）を対象に、センターが独自に開発した１年次生対象のプログラムである。本稿ではその成果と課題の検証を通して、いわゆる「開放制」と「大学における教員養成」の原則に基づいた教員養成教育の可能性を検討する。 |

| 抄録 | A population of peripheral B cells have been shown to express recombination activating gene products, RAG-1 and RAG-2, which are considered to be involved in revising the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) in the periphery. BCR engagement has been reported to turn off RAG expression in peripheral B cells, whereas the same treatment has an opposite effect in immature B cells in the bone marrow. In contrast to receptor editing that is involved in the removal of autoreactivity in immature B cells, it has been shown that secondary V(D)J rearrangement in peripheral B cells, termed receptor revision, contributes to affinity maturation of antibodies. Here, we show that RAG-2 expression in murine splenic B cells was abrogated by the coligation of BCR with complement receptors (CD21/CD35) much more efficiently than by the engagement of BCR alone. On the other hand, the same coligation augmented proliferation of anti-CD40-stimulated B cells. Consistent with these observations, RAG-2 expression was lower in the draining lymph nodes of the quasi-monoclonal mice when they were immunized with a high-affinity antigen than with a low-affinity one. These findings suggest a crucial role for CD21/CD35 in directing the conservation or the revision of BCRs in peripheral B cells. |

| 抄録 | Generally, IgM antibodies (Abs) produced in a primary immune response show lower affinity for an inducing antigen (Ag) compared with the corresponding IgG Abs that are major switched isotypes formed in the secondary response. An IgM molecule is a pentamer with 10 Ag-binding sites that will contribute to an increase of avidity for an Ag. To estimate the contribution of the pentameric structure to the avidity of an IgM Ab, we generated IgM and IgG1 monoclonal Abs (mAbs) with identical V regions that are specific for 4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenylacetyl (NP) by in vitro class switching of B cells followed by the cell fusion with a mouse myeloma cell line. Compared with an anti-NP IgG1 mAb, the corresponding IgM mAb showed much higher avidity for NP-conjugated bovine serum albumin, which was drastically reduced after being dissociated into monomers. |
