| 抄録 | WHO has recommended various measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including mask-wearing and physical distancing. However, these changes impair communication for individuals with hearing loss. We investigated the changes in auditory communication associated with COVID-19 measures in 269 patients (male: 45.7%, female: 54.3%, median age: 54 y.o.). Most patients with hearing loss had difficulty engaging in auditory communication with people wearing masks, especially in noisy surroundings or with physical distanc-ing. These difficulties were noticeable in patients with severe hearing loss. Developing communication support strategies for people with hearing loss is an urgent need while COVID-19 measures are in place. |

| 抄録 | This study aimed to evaluate whether there are differences in the attitudes and practices of cancer pain manage-ment between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians. An online nationwide survey was used to collect responses from board-certified medical oncologists and palliative care physicians in Japan. The survey questionnaire comprised 30 questions. The differences in responses between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians were examined. Out of the 1,227 questionnaires sent, 522 (42.5%) were returned. After apply-ing the exclusion criteria, 445 questionnaires (medical oncologists: n = 283; palliative care physicians: n = 162) were retained for analysis. Among the questions about potential barriers to optimal cancer pain man-agement, both medical oncologists and palliative care physicians considered the reluctance of patients to take opioids due to fear of adverse effects as the greatest barrier. Significantly different ratings between medical oncologists and palliative care physicians were observed on 5 of the 8 questions in this area. Significantly differ-ent ratings were observed for all questions concerning pain specialists and their knowledge. For effective cancer pain management, it is important to account for differences in attitudes and practice between medical oncolo-gists and palliative care physicians. |

| 抄録 | It is necessary to assess functional impairment when treating schizophrenia. The World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS 2.0) has been adopted as a measure of functional disability in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition. This study was a secondary analysis from a cross-sectional study of health-related behaviors among patients with schizophrenia. We examined the validity and reliability of the Japanese version of the 12-item WHODAS 2.0 when self-administered by such patients. Participants were 350 outpatients with schizophrenia from a psychiatric hospital. The standard six-factor structure of the WHODAS 2.0 showed a good fit for these participants. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.858, showing good internal consistency. The WHODAS 2.0 showed moderate correlations with the modified Global Assessment of Functioning and Kessler 6 scales (r=−0.434 and 0.555, respectively). The results of this study show that the Japanese version of the 12-item self-administered WHODAS 2.0 has good internal consistency and convergent validity among patients with schizophrenia. Further exploration of the usefulness of WHODAS 2.0 in clinical settings is needed. |

| 抄録 | This study aims to improve the quality of home nursing care for the elderly. The report presents web-based information about devices and services for remote monitoring and health management using information and communication technology and about how they can improve home care nursing station efficiency in Japan. The search terms "elderly people," "watch over," and "service," plus "sensor" were used to narrow the search. After repeating the search using a chained search for materials and links extracted from those search results, services for home care stations particularly addressing the remote monitoring of elderly people were selected and extracted. Early detection of abnormalities for support by home health nurse responsibilities for observing the general condition of the patient was chosen as the main evaluation index of usefulness. The contractor and service cost were secondary evaluation axes. Results show 9 information communication devices and services for real-time monitoring of the elderly persons’ vital signs in real time for 24 hr, 2 of which are highly useful for early detection of abnormalities and subsequent response. Results suggest that other services might be more useful, depending on how they are used, and that general-purpose services with minimum functions and low cost of introduction and maintenance can provide more opportunities for utilization. Providing these services on a BtoBtoC model and responding to patients’ medical needs can supplement home care nursing station work, increase human resource and time efficiencies, and give patients "the feeling that a nurse is always at their bedside,” even when far away. |

| 抄録 | 21 世紀の教員養成の課題に向け，変化の激しい時代を生き抜くため，質の高いコミュニ ケーション的行為の在り方を実践し，“真実の学び”を構築する必要がある。そのために本稿では，地域伝統文化継承への参加型教育学習の事例をもとに，課題解決を中心としたコミ ュニケーション的行為の教育原理を多面的な角度から考察し，未来社会に向けた学校教育及び，教員養成課程における「真正な学び」に関する教育原理を明らかとした。 また，地域伝統文化継承の教育実践事例と教育職員養成審議会答申(1999)の内容から，今日の学校教育，教師教育に必要な教育原理を考察し，コルト・ハーヘンらの理論をもとにし，今日の人間力を培うための教員養成と「真正な学び」に向けたコミュニケーション的行為の集団的学びに関する教育方法について示唆した。 |

| 抄録 | This study stands on long-term longitudinal research of 12 years from the training stage to the initial and middle terms. The study traced the changes in childcare worker identities and clarified the relationship between long-term changes in childcare worker identities and autobiographical memories. To be more specific, the study continuously applied the Multidimensional Ego Identity Scale (Tani, 2001a) to the training school graduation period, the initial term, and the transition from initial form to mid-career. Also, the study looked back on the past from the mid-career period. The childcare worker was subsequently asked for descriptions of childcare episodes as autobiographical memories. As a result, it turned out that there were four patterns of changes in the identities of childcare workers: “descending group,” “ascending group,” “low sustaining group,” and “high sustaining group.” These change patterns appeared to match the descriptions of the corresponding autobiographical memories. The study sorted out each group using extracted keywords and the like. |
