| 抄録 | To explore the ceramic materials appropriate for the coatings with high mold releasability, molecular orbital (MO) calculations have been applied to the ceramics with NaCl structure, such as TiN, TiC, CrN, etc. Chemical bonding characters were evaluated based on the MO calculations, which were correlated to the experimental surface free energy. The dispersion and polar components of surface free energy indicated high correlation with the bond overlap population of the surface bonds and the net charge of inside atoms of the cluster models, respectively. Among the ceramic materials investigated, MoN had the lowest surface free energy, being expected to be most suitable as the ceramic coating material with high releasability |

| 抄録 | In this study, we examined the change of rice cultivation in consideration of the global warming. In Japan, rice which is suitable for subtropical zone is grown even in an environment of cool-temperate climate. Since the rice varieties that resist of cold weather have been developed, rice cultivation spread to north parts of the country gradually. Land productivity of rice has also improved markedly. As a result, northern Japan became the main producer of rice. Now, taking not only crop production but also the landscape formation and preservation of the natural environment into account, we should think about the rural society from different aspects. |

| 抄録 | For evaluating statistical models one of the most effective criteria is cross-validation. But it requires a large amount of computation. Various alternative schemes are considered to reduce its computation. Modified generalized information criterion is one of those alternative schemes. In this criterion an influence function is used to estimate the parameters of the models. By the numerical simulation we studied the effect of an influence function. Surveying data of the lake depth are used as the sample data. We estimate the shape of lake bottom as spline surface. The estimated parameters and the estimated depths obtained by two criteria are compared and the effect of an information function is analysed. |

| 抄録 | This article describes the methods and rationale of the Okayama University LEC English Program evaluation. The methods include summative measures （TOEIC and TOEIC SW） to see if the program is helping students improve their English proficiency. Formative measures are also being utilized to understand various aspects of students’ communicative competence and language learning to consider ways to improve the program. These measures include surveys on learner affect（ motivation and anxiety）, a reading strategy survey, and vocabulary tests. The results of the pretest measures will be reported and possible implications will be discussed. |

| 抄録 | TED Talks are short, passionate and engaging speeches by experts on important topics. Delivered at TED conferences, they are recorded for all to see freely online. Recently there have been a growing number of smaller TED-sanctioned but independently organized “TEDx” conferences taking place throughout the world. This paper reflects on a visit to TEDxYouth@Kyoto 2013, a conference held by Kyoto area university students, and addresses why involving language learners in TEDx conferences might prove beneficial, not only for sharing ideas, but also for English practice and development as global citizens. |

| 抄録 | This exploratory study will begin with a review of cinematic portrayals of teachers and their situations by establishing three categories: thought-provoking stories of teachers and students trying to overcome social barriers, entertainment first productions with an uplifting resolution of conflict, and documentaries that track the real-life struggles and successes of educational practitioners and their students through projectbased training and performance. Then I will use forms of reflective practice and discourse analysis to delve deeper into the details of teaching and context. This working paper will conclude with some thoughts on what ‘good’ teachers do. |

| 抄録 | 熊沢蕃山の思想を、朱子学または陽明学と比較しつつできるだけ深く掘り下げて解明することを試みる。本稿では、その本体論と生成論について考察する。 太虚と太極の両概念を用いるところにその本体論の特徴が見られる。気だけを本体とする本体論、或いは理だけを本体とする本体論では、思索が厳密になればなるほどその理論の行き詰まりが露呈する、ということに気付いた蕃山は、理と気の両方を本体とする必要があると考えた、と推察される。蕃山のいう太虚と太極は、両方とも理と気であるが、太虚は気に重きを置き、太極は理に重きを置く、という思想的な操作を通してその本体論に 用いたと思われる。 蕃山にあっては、「五行説」と「四象四化説」の二種類の生成論が見られる。「五行説」とは、陰陽の二気と木火土金水の五行が天地万物を生成する生成論であるが、陰陽の気はどのように生じたのかが常に問題となっていた当時、蕃山は、太虚の理が感じるものだとし、理が感じることによって陰陽を生じたとして、理は神だと認識した。そして、太虚は永遠に存続する万物の根源として神道だと解釈された。 「四象四化説」とは、日月星辰の四象と水火土石の四化が天地万物を生成する生成論である。日月星辰は天であり、水火土石は地である。万物も人間もすべて天地の気を受けて生成される存在であるが故に、天地は父母だとする。この考え方が、蕃山の独特の「孝」思想を導き出したのである。 孝の字は、老と子で構成され、老は理で、子は気であり、これは太虚を象っている、と蕃山はいう。太虚は神道であれば、孝は神道を象った字ともなるのである。 |

| 抄録 | 本稿は著者が作成した初級日本語学習用ビデオクリップ集について報告するものである。まず，ビデオ教材の利点について述べた後，今回作成した教材の作成方法と教材の内容を説明する。作成したビデオクリップ集は70以上のビデオクリップからなる。各ビデオクリップは一つの文型または表現に焦点を当て，その文型または表現が出てくる短い会話やナレーション付きの映像からなっている。作成は文型または表現の抽出に始まり，スクリ プトの作成，ビデオ撮影，編集という過程を経た。また，ビデオクリップの実際の授業での使用方法を二例紹介し，ビデオクリップを用いた指導の有効性についても述べる。 |

| 抄録 | 岡山大学では平成25年度入学者から英語新カリキュラムを導入し、新１年生のスキル別科目の「総合英語１－４」（スピーキング、リーディング、ライティング、リスニング）は習熟度別クラス編成を行っている。本稿は、言語教育センター英語系が前期末の７月に実施した授業満足度に関するアンケート調査結果を分析したものである。入学時４月のTOEIC IP スコア395点以下、400点以上595点以下、600点以上の習熟度別グループに分け て学生の授業満足度の平均値をみると、習熟度の低いグループよりも高いグループの満足度が高い傾向がみられた。また、授業満足度に影響を与える要因は、習熟度別グループおよび担当教員グループによって異なることがわかった。 |
