| 抄録 | Although a number of studies have investigated the relationship of sleep duration to overweight and obesity, studies conducted among population-based elementary schoolchildren have been limited in Japan. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between sleep duration and overweight among elementary schoolchildren in Japan. The study subjects were all fourth-grade schoolchildren (9 or 10 years of age) in Ina-town, Saitama Prefecture, Japan from 1999 to 2008. Information concerning each subjectʼs sex, age, and lifestyle was obtained using a self-administered questionnaire, while measurements of his or her height and weight were carried out. Childhood overweight was determined according to the definition established by the International Obesity Task Force. Data from 3,433 children were analyzed. In logistic regression analysis, a statistically significant dose-response relationship was observed between sleep duration and overweight among boys (p for trend＝0.014) but not among girls (p for trend＝0.149). Short sleep duration was associated with childhood overweight, and the sex difference in the association was observed. These findings suggested that it is important to consider sleep duration as part of any program to prevent overweight among elementary schoolchildren, especially among boys. |

| 抄録 | Radiotherapy plays a central part in cancer treatment, and use of radiosensitizing agents can greatly enhance this modality. Although studies have shown that several chemotherapeutic agents have the potential to increase the radiosensitivity of tumor cells, investigators have also studied a number of molecularly targeted agents as radiosensitizers in clinical trials based on reasonably promising preclinical data. Recent intense research into the DNA damage-signaling pathway revealed that ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) and the Mre11-Rad50-NBS1 (MRN) complex play central roles in DNA repair and cell cycle checkpoints and that these molecules are promising targets for radiosensitization. Researchers recently developed three ATM inhibitors (KU-55933, CGK733, and CP466722) and an MRN complex inhibitor (mirin) and showed that they have great potential as radiosensitizers of tumors in preclinical studies. Additionally, we showed that a telomerase-dependent oncolytic adenovirus that we developed (OBP-301 [telomelysin]) produces profound radiosensitizing effects by inhibiting the MRN complex via the adenoviral E1B55kDa protein. A recent Phase I trial in the United States determined that telomelysin was safe and well tolerated in humans, and this agent is about to be tested in combination with radiotherapy in a clinical trial based on intriguing preclinical data demonstrating that telomelysin and ionizing radiation can potentiate each other. In this review, we highlight the great potential of ATM and MRN complex inhibitors, including telomelysin, as radiosensitizing agents. |

| 抄録 | In this paper, we examined the landscape and sightseeing at Bittchu-Kokubunji in Okayama prefecture carrying out the questionnaire survey to tourists and local residents. Both tourists and local residents estimate that the landscape ofBittchu-Kokubunji is wonderful, and it has several images such as historical, quiet, and old-fashioned, etc. AlthoughBittchu-Kokubunji is one of the famous tourist resorts in Okayama prefecture, there are quite few tourists compared with the degree of notability. Almost all tourists' age was 50 or more. As more active sightseeing activities, the number of times of holding events, such as an announcement of traditional performing arts, lighting of a five-storied pagoda, photograph or a sketching convention, needs to be increased. An attractive tourist resort should be created by the cooperation of local residents and administration. |

| 抄録 | Recently, competition among universities has a whole new face, and emphasis is given toward interdependence and interactive evolution between universities and regions. From this social perspective, universities should contribute to regional development by serving the regional society using results of intellectual work, and it is necessary for universities to accomplish social contribution and regional cooperation strategically. One of the most important parts in strategic planning is that students participate in activities for social contribution and regional cooperation. This paper presents a survey of the university students’ awareness on social contribution and regional cooperation using several statistical methods and attempts to find factors which affect activities for social contribution and regional cooperation using logistic regression analysis. |

After the work above, we will also re-evaluate“ The Postal Service Privatization Law”（ passed in the time of Koizumi Administration） and“ The Postal Reform Bills”（ under parliamentary discussion when this paper was written） each other. |

| 抄録 | As the tax agency had aggressively examined and determined the suspected tax avoidance schemes, several litigations were sued by the taxpayers. The tax agency has justified its tax assessments based on the‘restructured contract approach in private law’, however, the court has not always judged favorable decisions. The main purpose of this article is to reconsider the economic rationality of tax avoidance scheme from a viewpoint of the possibility of earning a sufficient pre-tax profit. To clarify this purpose, I introduce the two major cases for tax avoidance litigation, the Film-lease case where the agency finally won and the Aircraft-lease case where the agency lost. Through the contrast of these cases, I would mention how the tax reduction effects were created in the schemes and whether the economic substances of these lease business activities can be recognized without the tax reduction effects. I would finally suggest how the tax agency would conduct tax examinations against the tax avoidance schemes. |

| 抄録 | 本稿は、文部科学省が実施した「全国学力・学習状況調査」（メインタイトルを含め、以下本稿では全国学力テストと略記）のうち悉皆調査として行われた2009（平成21）年の結果を検討し、児童生徒の活用力を育成する学校教育課程のあり方を考察するデータの整理を主な目的としている。具体的には、現在まで計５回行われた調査において教科（国語、算数・数学）学力調査の結果が常に上位を占める秋田県の結果を、ほぼ全国平均の位置にある岡山県の結果と比較した。教科テストの結果、教科テストと並んで行われた児童生徒の学習や生活の実態の調査及び学校長らが解答した学校調査の結果をそれぞれ比較することで、本稿において「活用力」の指標として位置づけている全国学力テストB問題における正答率の高さと密接な関係にあるいくつかの要因を抽出することを試みた。 |

| 抄録 | ドイツ（連邦共和国）のザクセン邦におけるミッテルシューレ（通算呼称，第５～10学年）に焦点を当て，教科書を手がかりにして，教科生物の特徴を，日本の中学校の教科理科における生物分野との比較を通じて，明らかにした。ザクセン邦では教科生物として設定しており, 日本に比べて週授業時間数が多く, 選択分野もある。また, 人体を取り扱っており，人体分野の一部の内容には, いわば保健の内容が含まれ, ザクセン邦の週授業時間割表から保健がないことがわかるように教科生物で取り扱っている。教科書における学習内容とページ数, 索引の学習分野別割合, 人体分野の取扱いの範囲と順序に関する対比,DNAに関する取り扱う学年と範囲と内容の比較などから判断すれば, 日本の中学校の理科における生物教育とは異なり, ザクセン邦の生物教育の内容が広く,緻密であることがうかがわれる。 |

| 抄録 | ドイツ・ザクセン邦におけるミッテルシューレと東ドイツのオーベルシューレとに焦点を当て，学校教育法，学習指導要領などを手がかりにし,40年間程度の隔たりがある生物教育の比較分析を行ってきた。週授業時間数はオーベルシューレ（第5～10学年）からミッテルシューレに至り1時間減少した。例えば, オーベルシューレでは生物兵器(ベトナム戦争におけるアメリカ軍の枯葉剤散布)を取り上げることを求めていたが, ミッテルシューレでは話題にもなっていないことや, 東ドイツもザクセン邦も遺伝学習はされているが, 東ドイツは遺伝子レベルで, ザクセン邦はDNAレベルまでも学習がされていることから判断すれば, 生物教育は社会主義の建設を標榜しなくなったことによるイデオロギーの変化と, 科学技術の発展による時代の流れによる変化に影響されてきたことがうかがわれる。 |

| 抄録 | 近年，わが国においても大学教育における障害学生支援のあり方が注目されつつある。しかしながら，多くの大学は実態把握に着手したばかりであり，実践的な支援システムの構築は今後の課題となっている。そこで，本稿では，州立ハワイ大学マノア校（学生数約２万人）における障害学生支援の取り組み（KOKUAプログラム）に着目し，インタビュー調査を中心にその実際について報告した。KOKUAプログラムは，半世紀近くの歴史を持つ学内の独立した学生支援機関であり，専任職員の配置による組織的な体制が組まれている。KOKUAプログラムの利用者は全学生の約3.2%に上ると推計されており，アシスティブ・テクノロジーを活用した多様な支援が展開されていた。一方，発達障害学生に対する支援方法の構築や，プライバシーの保護を前提とした支援の限界といった課題も残されていた。今後，手続きや内容など各大学の実態に応じた支援システムを早急に検討していく必要があろう。 |
