胃液酸度の季節変動

抄録	Since, in Japan situated in the temperate zone, climatic change through the four seasons of a year is regular, it is expected that there the physiological reactions of the human body may vary regularly in accordance with the climatic change. In fact, we experience that the attacks of diseases and their conditions are in close connection with the changes of the seasons. The author investigated the effect of the seasons upon the human gastric acidity, by means of the coffein-test, in 580 cases with gastrointestinal disorders, at the Misasa Branch Hospital of Okayama University, Misasa Spa in Tottori Prefecture, in 1946～1946. Hyperacidity was verified in 194 (33%) of 580 cases, normacidity in 134 (23%), anacidity in 138 (24%) and hypacidity in 114 (20%). The percentage of hyperacidity increases in winter (41%), decreases in spring (32%) and in summer (28%), and increases again in autumn (34%). The cases of anacidity decrease in winter and spring, but increase in summer. In chi-square test, the season and the acidity of gastric juice were taken as factors of variation. The chi-square was computed with the result: Pr {X(3)=14.013<16.919} =5%, so it cannot be asserted that the seasonal changes effect the acidity of gastric juice. But if Comparison is made between summer and winter with respect to the anacidity-hypacidity vs. the hyperacidity, the author: obtains Pr {X(2)=6.06> 5.412} =2%. It is thus verified that the cases of hyperacidity predominate over those of anacidity-hypacidity in winter, while the relation is reverse in summer. As was mentioned above, the tendency is obvious that the acidity of gastric juice decreases in summer and increases in winter. It was found that there is a regular seasonal variation in gastric acidity.

抄録	The author investigated the effect of the internal use of thermal water of Yumura (weak alkaline spring, Hyogo Prefecture) and Musashi (weak common salt spring, Fukuoka Prefecture) Springs upon the alimentary hyperglycemia in rabbits. Sixty ml. of spring water, and of plain water as control, with 10% glucose in solution was administered to rabbits by stomach tube, and the blood sugar level was determined before and 1/2, 1, 2 and 3 hours after the administration. In all cases, the thermal water was revealed to inhibit the alimentary hyperglycemia significantly by comparing the results obtained with the thermal water and those with the plain water control.

抄録	The authors examined the blood pressure levels of 5, 358 out-patients of Branch Hospital of Okayama University Hospital, Tottori Prefecture, during the four-year period, from April, 1957 to March, 1961. The following results were obtained: I. The incidence of hypertension with a systolic blood pressure over 150 mmHg was 20.5% (1,093 cases of 5,358). 2. Patients with hypertension over 40 years of age was 35.9% in male and 41.5% in female. Females showed a higher incidence than males and the incidence rate of hypertension increased with age. 3. There was a tendency in the incidence rate of patients with hypertension decreased in summer and increased in cold seasons.

抄録	A thirty seven years old woman with rheumatoid arthritis was instituted gold salt intramuscularly twice a week on the nineteenth hospital day. On the fifty fourth day, however, it was discontinued at the total dosis of 180 mg because of the skin rush. In about ten days after stopping gold injection appeared high fever with shivering and granulocytopenia was demonstrated. With immediate administration of ACTH, adrenocortical hormons etc. including blood transfusion the abnormal findings of the blood pictures returned to normal and the patient became well. Recently, gold salts are so widely used in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis as one of specific antirheumatic agents that the possible severe side effect such as granulocytopenia, if quite rare, should always be considered in the course of gold therapy.

抄録	A 24-year-old woman was presented in whom thrombocytopenic purpura appeared during antiinflammatory drugs therapy for arthralgia. At that time she had a positive LE cell preparation, positive antinuclear factor and false positive serum test for syphilis. Steroid hormon and ACTH therapy were started under the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus. In the 23-rd hospital days, she had a negative LE cell preparation, negative antinuclear factor and negative serum test for syphilis. In the 28-th days after stopping steroid hormon and ACTH therapy, positive LE cell preparation and positive antinuclear factor appeared again.

抄録	A set of FORTRAN programs for small computer is described for deposit and retrieval of the epidemiological data, which have been compiled at the Kami-hojo-cho district in Feb. 1972and Feb. 1975. A data file is constructed on a magnetic disk. The following items are recorded and registered on the disk for every person: identification number, full name in Japanese alphabet, sex, date of birth, weight, height, blood pressures, chemical characterics of blood serum and urine, and various complaints of clinical significance (fever, morning stiffness, arthralgia, joint swelling, myalgia, cutaneous rash, aphthous stomatitis, dry eyes, dry mouth, joint deformity, subcutaneous nodules, lymph and parotid gland enlargement, struma, heart murmur, and neulogical findings). All information per one person requires only two IBM cards due to compact encoding of original records. The encode-decode procedures are explained also in the text.
