抄録	Ordinary Kriging, OK, and Regression Kriging, RK, are the spatial statistical methods that are possible to estimate a horizontal distribution in a study area from discrete data. OK is the method which takes account of only spatial auto-correlation structure of the data, while RK is the method which takes account of an interrelationship between spatial auto-correlation structure and some auxiliary variables to minimize the estimation error. Analytical processing for OK and RK methods was performed by the R-Language (R Core Team, 2012) and its some additional libraries. The auxiliary variables required to perform RK method were prepared by a GIS application, Quantum GIS (Quantum GIS Development Team, 2012). The 3-dimensional geographic representation of the estimation maps was performed by the Google Earth (Google, 2012). In this report, OK and RK methods were applied to one of the Earth scientific information, SPM (Supended Particulate Matter). Then, these methods were considered by comparing two estimation maps, and finally considered qualitatively by displaying these maps in the Google Earth.

Attenuated Sensory Deprivation-induced Changes of Parvalbumin Neuron Density in the Barrel Cortex of FcγRllB-deficient Mice

抄録	Recent studies have demonstrated the important role of immune molecules in the development of neuronal circuitry and synaptic plasticity. We have detected the presence of FcγRllB protein in parvalbumin- containing inhibitory interneurons (PV neurons). In the present study, we examined the appearance of PV neurons in the barrel cortex and the effect of sensory deprivation in FcγRllB-deficient mice (FcγRllB-/-) and wild-type mice. There was no substantial difference in the appearance of PV neurons in the developing barrel cortex between FcγRllB-/- and wild-type mice. Sensory deprivation from immediately after birth (P0) or P7 to P12-P14 induced an increase in PV neurons. In contrast, sensory deprivation from P7 or P14 to P28, but not from P21 to P28, decreased PV neurons in wild-type mice. However, sensory deprivation from P0 or P7 to P12-P14 did not increase PV neurons and sensory deprivation from P7 or P14 to P28 did not decrease or only modestly decreased PV neurons in FcγRllB-/- mice. The results indicate that expression of PV is regulated by sensory experience and the second and third postnatal weeks are a sensitive period for sensory deprivation, and suggest that FcγRllB contributes to sensory experience-regulated expression of PV.

抄録	KED, the Kriging with External Drift, is one of the spatial statistical method for estimating some distribution from the discrete spatial sampled data set about the research field. The KED uses the kriging method (Matheron, 1973) with some auxiliary map to minimize the estimated error. The KED procedure was performed by the R-Language (Ihaka and Gentleman, 1996) using some geostatistical libraries. The auxiliary maps required by the KED were prepared by the authors with some GIS applications. The 3-dimensional geographic representations for the estimated distribution were performed by the Google Earth (Google, 2011). In this report, the KED was applied to some Earth scientific information to show the fundamental scheme of the method.

Risk Factors for Infection in Patients with Remitted Rheumatic Diseases Treated with Glucocorticoids

抄録	It is well known that infection is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in rheumatic disease patients treated with high-dose glucocorticoids, especially in the early phase after achievement of disease remission. The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors for infection, with a focus on the dose of glucocorticoids administered, following the achievement of disease remission in rheumatic diseases patients. We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of rheumatic disease patients who had been treated with glucocorticoids. The primary endpoint was the incidence rate of infection during a period from 1 to 2 months after the commencement of treatment. From April 2006 to March 2010, 19 of 92 patients suffered from infection during the observation period. Age≧65 yrs, presence of interstitial pneumonia, diagnosis of systemic vasculitis and serum creatinine level≧2.0mg/dl were found to be univariate predictors for infection. However, only the presence of interstitial pneumonia was an independent risk factor for infection (HR＝4.50, 95%CI＝1.65 to 14.44) by the Cox proportional hazard model. Even after achievement of clinical remission, careful observation is needed for patients with interstitial pneumonia, more so than for those receiving high-dose glucocorticoids.
