子どものための西アフリカ民族音楽に関する学習プログラム開発

本稿では、異文化学習の視点から西アフリカの民族楽器「Djembe」を用いた学習プログラム開発を行い、その実践を試みる。まず、西アフリカの民族音楽を取り上げることの教育的意義について述べる。次に、アフリカ出身者が多く居住するアメリカにおける音楽教科書“The Music Connection”から、西アフリカの民族音楽を用いた学習教材の事例を取り出し、分析し、実践的に検討する。また、日本で行われているワークショップの分析を行い、現状の問題点を把握する。最後に、これらをふまえて、子ども向けワークショップを開発し、その方法を提案する。

In this paper, I examined teaching/learning practices of western-African folk drum, "Djembe" from a view-point of "different culture learning" and propose a teaching strategies. In the first chapter, previous practical researches are reviewed and meanings of learning African music are mentioned. In the second chapter, a teaching material in a music textbook, "Music Connection" published in US is examined practically, several workshops in Japan are analyzed and then, teaching strategies are extracted. In the third chapter, a djembe workshop is tried and propose teaching strategies.
