| 抄録 | Calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease may mimic an iliopsoas abscess on imaging. The combined use of polarized light microscopy and 16S rRNA gene analysis can help distinguish crystal-induced inflammation from infection, thereby preventing unnecessary antimicrobial therapy.
