With hydrogen peroxide plus potassium cyanide, a 48% decrease occurred with hydrogen peroxide, in regard to the ability to take up mercury from air saturated with mercury vapour. Purified extract without hydrogen peroxide showed a 63% decrease with hydrogen peroxide compared to hydrogen peroxide plus potassium cyanide which showed a 76% decrease with hydrogen peroxide alone. Hydrogen peroxide plus sodium azide showed a 97% decrease with hydrogen peroxide alone. The results were similar to human and mouse normal and acatalasemic erythrocytes or mouse lung and liver homogenates. Natto Hay Bacillus extract of catalase took up mercury from air saturated with mercury vapour. This indicates that the catalase-hydrogen peroxide system plays a role in mercury uptake presumably by oxidation. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=HirotaNoboru en-aut-sei=Hirota en-aut-mei=Noboru kn-aut-name=広田昇 kn-aut-sei=広田 kn-aut-mei=昇 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部公衆衛生学教室 en-keyword=Mercury kn-keyword=Mercury en-keyword=Catalase kn-keyword=Catalase en-keyword=Hay Bacillus kn-keyword=Hay Bacillus END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=1045 end-page=1053 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation kn-title=発作性心房細動について en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=Out of 60 patients of transient atrial fibrillation including a case followed up for 12 years, 51 cases with unknown etiology or due to ischemic heart disease were studied in this paper. 1. Transient atrial fibrillation tends to induce cerebrovascular accidents although no direct relationship between the two was detected. 2. Transient atrial fibrillation combines frequently with sick sinus syndrome, especially with sinus bradycardia. 3. The cases combined with sick sinus syndrome have not only cardiac problems but also a higher risk of cerebrovascular accidents. 4. At the onset of atrial fibrillation, many cases complain of pollakisuria as well as other symptoms reported previously. 5. No apparent causes for atrial fibrillation was found in more than half of our cases. However, most cases had something to do with physical and/or mental stress. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=MaeRitsuo en-aut-sei=Mae en-aut-mei=Ritsuo kn-aut-name=前律夫 kn-aut-sei=前 kn-aut-mei=律夫 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= en-aut-name=NagahanaHaruki en-aut-sei=Nagahana en-aut-mei=Haruki kn-aut-name=長花晴樹 kn-aut-sei=長花 kn-aut-mei=晴樹 aut-affil-num=2 ORCID= en-aut-name=MashimaKozo en-aut-sei=Mashima en-aut-mei=Kozo kn-aut-name=間嶋行造 kn-aut-sei=間嶋 kn-aut-mei=行造 aut-affil-num=3 ORCID= en-aut-name=FujiiAkinobu en-aut-sei=Fujii en-aut-mei=Akinobu kn-aut-name=藤井章伸 kn-aut-sei=藤井 kn-aut-mei=章伸 aut-affil-num=4 ORCID= en-aut-name=IhoriyaKazuo en-aut-sei=Ihoriya en-aut-mei=Kazuo kn-aut-name=庵谷和夫 kn-aut-sei=庵谷 kn-aut-mei=和夫 aut-affil-num=5 ORCID= en-aut-name=SaitoDaiji en-aut-sei=Saito en-aut-mei=Daiji kn-aut-name=斎藤大治 kn-aut-sei=斎藤 kn-aut-mei=大治 aut-affil-num=6 ORCID= en-aut-name=HaraokaShoichi en-aut-sei=Haraoka en-aut-mei=Shoichi kn-aut-name=原岡昭一 kn-aut-sei=原岡 kn-aut-mei=昭一 aut-affil-num=7 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=2 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=3 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=4 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=5 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=6 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=7 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 en-keyword=発作性心房細動 kn-keyword=発作性心房細動 en-keyword=Sick Sinus Syndrome kn-keyword=Sick Sinus Syndrome en-keyword=脳血管障害 kn-keyword=脳血管障害 en-keyword=頻尿 kn-keyword=頻尿 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=1033 end-page=1044 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Tricuspid incompetence due to non-penetrating trauma with a congenital left pleuro-pericardial defect kn-title=左側心外膜欠損を伴つた外傷性三尖弁閉鎖不全症の1例 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=We report a case of traumatic rupture of the chordae tendineae of the tricuspid valve with a congenital left pleuro-pericardial defect. The chest X ray film revealed a large cardiac silhouette which protruded to the left. Echocardiographic findings were: 1) large right ventricle and paradoxical septal motion 2) tricuspid regurgitatin which was recognized by contrast echocardiography 3) small left ventricle. This case also had a characteristic finding of systolic fine oscillation on the posterior tricuspid leaflet. Computed tomograms explained the discrepancy (protrusion to the left in chest X ray and small left ventricle): Computed tomograms of the heart revealed an enlarged right atrium and right ventricle associated with prominent clockwise rotation of the heart. Open heart surgery, performed successfully 16 years after the non-penetrating trauma, revealed the congenital pericardial defect which produced the findings of computed tomogram. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=HaraokaShoichi en-aut-sei=Haraoka en-aut-mei=Shoichi kn-aut-name=原岡昭一 kn-aut-sei=原岡 kn-aut-mei=昭一 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= en-aut-name=UedaMinoru en-aut-sei=Ueda en-aut-mei=Minoru kn-aut-name=上田稔 kn-aut-sei=上田 kn-aut-mei=稔 aut-affil-num=2 ORCID= en-aut-name=YamadaNobuyuki en-aut-sei=Yamada en-aut-mei=Nobuyuki kn-aut-name=山田信行 kn-aut-sei=山田 kn-aut-mei=信行 aut-affil-num=3 ORCID= en-aut-name=NagahanaHaruki en-aut-sei=Nagahana en-aut-mei=Haruki kn-aut-name=長花晴樹 kn-aut-sei=長花 kn-aut-mei=晴樹 aut-affil-num=4 ORCID= en-aut-name=IhoriyaKazuo en-aut-sei=Ihoriya en-aut-mei=Kazuo kn-aut-name=庵谷和夫 kn-aut-sei=庵谷 kn-aut-mei=和夫 aut-affil-num=5 ORCID= en-aut-name=MashimaKozo en-aut-sei=Mashima en-aut-mei=Kozo kn-aut-name=間嶋行造 kn-aut-sei=間嶋 kn-aut-mei=行造 aut-affil-num=6 ORCID= en-aut-name=FujiiAkinobu en-aut-sei=Fujii en-aut-mei=Akinobu kn-aut-name=藤井章伸 kn-aut-sei=藤井 kn-aut-mei=章伸 aut-affil-num=7 ORCID= en-aut-name=SaitoDaiji en-aut-sei=Saito en-aut-mei=Daiji kn-aut-name=斎藤大治 kn-aut-sei=斎藤 kn-aut-mei=大治 aut-affil-num=8 ORCID= en-aut-name=TeramotoShigeru en-aut-sei=Teramoto en-aut-mei=Shigeru kn-aut-name=寺本滋 kn-aut-sei=寺本 kn-aut-mei=滋 aut-affil-num=9 ORCID= en-aut-name=NawaKiyoto en-aut-sei=Nawa en-aut-mei=Kiyoto kn-aut-name=名和清人 kn-aut-sei=名和 kn-aut-mei=清人 aut-affil-num=10 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=2 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=3 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=4 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=5 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=6 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=7 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=8 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第一内科教室 affil-num=9 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第二外科教室 affil-num=10 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第二外科教室 en-keyword=非穿通性心外傷 kn-keyword=非穿通性心外傷 en-keyword=三尖弁閉鎖不全症 kn-keyword=三尖弁閉鎖不全症 en-keyword=心胸膜欠損 kn-keyword=心胸膜欠損 en-keyword=心エコー図と胸部CT kn-keyword=心エコー図と胸部CT END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=1025 end-page=1032 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Studies on adult T-cell leukemia I. The E rosette-positive, surface immunoglobulin (sIg) negative leukemic cells from these patients gave a positive reaction with appropriately absorbed antisera, which reacted specifically with thymocytes, cells from T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-ALL derived lymphoblastoid cell lines (T-LCLs) and normal fresh peripheral T-cells. Nevertheless, antisera further absorbed with fresh peripheral blood lymphocytes (FN-PBL) lost almost all reactivity with the leukemic cells as well as with normal peripheral blood T-cells but still retained reactivity with thymocytes, T-LCLs and T-ALL cells. The results suggest that adult T-cell leukemic cells possess a mature T-cell antigen but not a thymus-specific antigen. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=SogawaJujiro en-aut-sei=Sogawa en-aut-mei=Jujiro kn-aut-name=十川重次郎 kn-aut-sei=十川 kn-aut-mei=重次郎 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第2内科教室 en-keyword=Adult T-cell leukemia kn-keyword=Adult T-cell leukemia en-keyword=Thymus-specific antigen kn-keyword=Thymus-specific antigen en-keyword=Mature T-cell antigen kn-keyword=Mature T-cell antigen END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=1015 end-page=1024 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Alteration of mitochondrial functions by lipid peroxidation and inhibition by biscoclaurine alkaloid kn-title=脂質過酸化反応によるミトコンドリァ機能の変化とビスコクラウリン型アルカロイドによる阻害作用 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=During investigation of the changes in mitochondrial function accompanying lipid peroxidation, it was found that a biscoclaurine alkaroid protected their functional changes. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Fe(2+) induces lipid peroxidation of isolated mitochondria, resulting in deterioration of oxidative phosphorylation. 2) This deterioration relates to alteration in ion compartmentation of the mitochondrial membrane and an increase in latent ATPase activity. 3) This deterioration by Fe(2+) in ion compartmentation of mitochondrial membrane is strongly protected by a biscoclaurine alkaloid, cepharanthine. 4) Cepharanthine also inhibits the mitochondrial. lipid peroxidation induced by Fe(2+). 5) The protective effect of cepharanthine against deterioration in mitochondrial functions caused by Fe(2+) depends on its inhibitive action on lipid peroxidation as well as on its membrane stabilizing action. 6) Cepharanthine inhibits the lipid peroxidation of soybean lecithine liposomes by (60)Co-irradiation. 7) The action of cepharanthine described above is common to head to head type of biscoclaurin alkaloids which have diether bonds. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=AonoKaname en-aut-sei=Aono en-aut-mei=Kaname kn-aut-name=青野要 kn-aut-sei=青野 kn-aut-mei=要 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= en-aut-name=MorimotoSetsuo en-aut-sei=Morimoto en-aut-mei=Setsuo kn-aut-name=森本節夫 kn-aut-sei=森本 kn-aut-mei=節夫 aut-affil-num=2 ORCID= en-aut-name=HashimotoKeiji en-aut-sei=Hashimoto en-aut-mei=Keiji kn-aut-name=橋本啓二 kn-aut-sei=橋本 kn-aut-mei=啓二 aut-affil-num=3 ORCID= en-aut-name=SatoKatashi en-aut-sei=Sato en-aut-mei=Katashi kn-aut-name=佐藤功 kn-aut-sei=佐藤 kn-aut-mei=功 aut-affil-num=4 ORCID= en-aut-name=JojaIkuo en-aut-sei=Joja en-aut-mei=Ikuo kn-aut-name=上者郁夫 kn-aut-sei=上者 kn-aut-mei=郁夫 aut-affil-num=5 ORCID= en-aut-name=KimotoShin en-aut-sei=Kimoto en-aut-mei=Shin kn-aut-name=木本真 kn-aut-sei=木本 kn-aut-mei=真 aut-affil-num=6 ORCID= en-aut-name=EzoeHiroshi en-aut-sei=Ezoe en-aut-mei=Hiroshi kn-aut-name=江添弘 kn-aut-sei=江添 kn-aut-mei=弘 aut-affil-num=7 ORCID= en-aut-name=TakedaYoshihiro en-aut-sei=Takeda en-aut-mei=Yoshihiro kn-aut-name=竹田芳弘 kn-aut-sei=竹田 kn-aut-mei=芳弘 aut-affil-num=8 ORCID= en-aut-name=MiyakeMasayoshi en-aut-sei=Miyake en-aut-mei=Masayoshi kn-aut-name=三宅正淑 kn-aut-sei=三宅 kn-aut-mei=正淑 aut-affil-num=9 ORCID= en-aut-name=HayashiHidehiro en-aut-sei=Hayashi en-aut-mei=Hidehiro kn-aut-name=林英博 kn-aut-sei=林 kn-aut-mei=英博 aut-affil-num=10 ORCID= en-aut-name=WakabayashiHisao en-aut-sei=Wakabayashi en-aut-mei=Hisao kn-aut-name=若林寿生 kn-aut-sei=若林 kn-aut-mei=寿生 aut-affil-num=11 ORCID= en-aut-name=TamaiToyosato en-aut-sei=Tamai en-aut-mei=Toyosato kn-aut-name=玉井豊理 kn-aut-sei=玉井 kn-aut-mei=豊理 aut-affil-num=12 ORCID= en-aut-name=MorinoYasuo en-aut-sei=Morino en-aut-mei=Yasuo kn-aut-name=森野靖雄 kn-aut-sei=森野 kn-aut-mei=靖雄 aut-affil-num=13 ORCID= en-aut-name=ShiraishiNoriyuki en-aut-sei=Shiraishi en-aut-mei=Noriyuki kn-aut-name=白石則之 kn-aut-sei=白石 kn-aut-mei=則之 aut-affil-num=14 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部附属病院中央放射線部 affil-num=2 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=3 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=4 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=5 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=6 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=7 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=8 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=9 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=10 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=11 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=12 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=13 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部放射線医学教室 affil-num=14 en-affil= kn-affil=高知医科大学生物学教室 en-keyword=Lipid Peroxidation kn-keyword=Lipid Peroxidation en-keyword=Cepharanthine (Biscoclaurine Alkaloid) kn-keyword=Cepharanthine (Biscoclaurine Alkaloid) en-keyword=Mitochondrial Function kn-keyword=Mitochondrial Function END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=1007 end-page=1014 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Studies on protein -thermosoluble protein- and its Donaggio activity in urine after physical exercise kn-title=生体負担時の尿中蛋白(特に熱可溶性蛋白)及びそのDonaggio反応について en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=Acid and heat-resistant proteins (thermosoluble proteins) were isolated from urine after exercise. These proteins were divided by starch block electrophoresis into 5 subfractions with 30 sections. Donaggio titer and protein measurement were done for each section, and the relationship between thermosoluble proteins and Donaggio specific activity (Donaggio titer/total protein concentration) was investigated. The results were: 1) The Donaggio specific activity of the 5 subfractions with 30 sections was maximum in the alb. ~α1-glob. region. It increased after treatment by heating at 100℃ for 10 minutes and acidification to pH 5. 2) A significant rise in the protein concentration of urine after exercise was observed in the alb. and αl-glob. regions. 3) The Donaggio specific activity of serum was higher than urine for equivalent protein concentrations. 4) Thermosoluble proteins were identified as Donaggio substances. The Donaggio specific activity of proteins was in the order of alb.,>α1-glob.>α2-glob.≫β-glob., γ-glob.. 5) The most important proteins contributing to the Donaggio titer were thought to be alb. and αl-AG, judging from correlation coefficients between Donaggio titers and protein measurement. The differences between alb. and αl-AG, before and after treatment were not statistically significant. Measurement of thermosoluble proteins in urine may be a useful method of determining the magnitude of the load imposed by physical exercise upon an individual. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=OhmoriSachio en-aut-sei=Ohmori en-aut-mei=Sachio kn-aut-name=大森祥夫 kn-aut-sei=大森 kn-aut-mei=祥夫 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部公衆衛生学教室 en-keyword=Donaggio 反応 kn-keyword=Donaggio 反応 en-keyword=Donaggio 特異活性 kn-keyword=Donaggio 特異活性 en-keyword=熱可溶性蛋白 kn-keyword=熱可溶性蛋白 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=92 cd-vols= no-issue=9-10 article-no= start-page=999 end-page=1005 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1980 dt-pub=19801030 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Metallic mercury uptake by catalase Part 1 In Vitro metallic mercury uptake by various kind of animals' erythrocytes and purified human erythrocyte catalase kn-title=金属水銀のカタラーゼによる取り込みに関する研究 第1報 カタラーゼ活性の異なる動物赤血球の金属水銀の取り込みの差異と粗赤血球カタラーゼ液による取り込み en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=The uptake of metallic mercury was studied using erythrocytes with different catalase activities taken from various kind of animals.
