Examination of remaining organic chloride preparations in sera of healthy individuals and patients with various diseases kn-title=有機塩素剤農薬中毒に関する研究 第2編 健康人および各種疾患患者における血清中有機塩素剤農薬濃度の検討 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=Organic chlorides have been known to accumulate, especially, in adipose tissue of human bodies. So that, it might be possible to expect chronically intoxicated patients due to an accumulative effect as far as pollution by organic chlorides becomes worse. We have known a certain relationship of the retaining concentration between in adipose tissue and in blood. The author has examined retaining organic chlorides in sera of healty subjects and patients with various disorder using a gas-chromatograph. Results 1) β-BHC, p,p'-DDT and p,p'-DDE have been shown in all the cases examined. 2) In healthy subjects, there was no particular difference in the contents of various organic chlorides depending on sexes, ages and farmer of nonfarmer group. 3) An average concentration of β-BHC was relatively high in the patients with liver damages, subacute myelo-opticoneuropathy, leukemia and malignant neoplasm. 4) β-BHC, p,p'-DDT and p,p'-DDE were higher in concentrations in the patients with malignant neoplasm than in healthy individuals and the patients with other diseases. 5) On the other hand, β-BHC, p,p'-DDT and p,p'-DDE were rather lower in concentrations in the patients with renal damages and aplastic anemia than in healthy individuals and the patients with other diseases. 6) The two jaundiced cases with hepatic illness showed highly concentrated p,p'-DDE, a main product of DDT. From the above observations, it can be said that organic chlorides will be accumulated in a certain extent in the tumors, although one was not able to demonstrate its effect on hematopoiesis. It is, however, uncertain as to whether or not organic chlorides are related to carcinogenesis. One can assume that liver damage will be the more increased, in future, the more pollution due to organic chlorides is progressed. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=NawaHideaki en-aut-sei=Nawa en-aut-mei=Hideaki kn-aut-name=名和英明 kn-aut-sei=名和 kn-aut-mei=英明 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部平木内科 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=85 cd-vols= no-issue=1-2 article-no= start-page=35 end-page=45 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1973 dt-pub=19730228 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Study on the Intoxication by Organic Chloride Preparations for Agricultural Uses. Part Ⅰ. A simplified detection of organic chloride preparations in peripheral blood and its application to clinical use kn-title=有機塩素剤農薬中毒に関する研究 第1編 血中有機塩素剤農薬の簡易検出法およびその応用 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=According to the statistics by the Ministry of Health on toxications due to drugs for agricultural uses, we have had incidents by organic chloride compounds for many years. In future, there is also a possibility to encounter chronic intoxications by the above compounds. We have relied on solely a close observation on clinical manifestations for its diagnosis. Understandably, there has been no proper treatments established up to now. Therefore, it is a very urgent demand in our community to establish the most reliable method detecting organic chloride substance. The author have tried to devise a simplified method to detect organic chloride substance, as quick as possible in peripheral blood, using an electron capture detector. Its principle was based on gas-chromatography. Results 1) It takes approximately one hour with petroleum-ether to extract organic chlorides in peripheral blood. This is a simplified and speedy method as compared to a conventional way which needs a complicated clean-up. 2) A minimal concentration of organic chlorides to be detected is 0.008ppm for Dieldrin, 0.003ppm Aldrin, 0.02ppm p,p'-DDT and 0.003ppm γ-BHC, indicating a significantly sensitive method. 3) It is feasible to extract various organic chlorides separately by combining several columns in a gas-chromatograph, i.e., 1.5% SE-30, 10% DC-200+15% QF-1 and 1.5% OV-17. The author, thus, has been able to produce an evidence that the above method is extremely useful for diagnosing the intoxication by organic chlorides. Using this method, a part of the dynamics in the intoxicated patients has been also clearified. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=NawaHideaki en-aut-sei=Nawa en-aut-mei=Hideaki kn-aut-name=名和英明 kn-aut-sei=名和 kn-aut-mei=英明 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部平木内科 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=85 cd-vols= no-issue=1-2 article-no= start-page=23 end-page=34 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1973 dt-pub=19730228 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Studies on the treatment of malignant tumors with fibroblast-inhibiting agents Part Ⅳ. The drug was particularly effective in lung cancer (12/13) and bladder cancer (6/8). In effective cases, there were alleviation of pain and improvement anemia, blood sedimention rate, serum protein and serum iron. Tumor regression often occurred and histologically, tendency of tumor necrosis and inhibition of interstitial connective tissue were observed. 2) The side effects of chloroquine were silght and 8 of 54 patients treated showed slight gastrointestinal, neurological or eye complaints. Hematopoiesis was not impaired. 3) The mechanism of action of this agent seems to be in the inhibition of cancer stromal connective tissue, anti-inflamatory and constiutional humoral effects. 4) Therefore, the indication of this drug includes inoperable cases, pre-and post-operative cases, especially in those who failed to respond to ordinary anti-cancer agents. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=ShibuyaKoichi en-aut-sei=Shibuya en-aut-mei=Koichi kn-aut-name=渋谷貢一 kn-aut-sei=渋谷 kn-aut-mei=貢一 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学平木内科 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=85 cd-vols= no-issue=1-2 article-no= start-page=15 end-page=22 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1973 dt-pub=19730228 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Studies on the treatment of malignant tumors with fibroblast-inhibiting agents Part Ⅲ. Bashford cancer which is relatively rich in the interstitium was tested with this agent and the following results were obtained. 1) Chloroquine diphosphate clearly retarded the growth of Bashford cancer. The daily intraperitoneal dose of 25mg/kg was more effective than 10mg/kg. 2) The life span of the tumor-bearing animals was slightly prolonged as compared to controls. 3) The above data were supported by the collateral experimental results; an increase of tumor tissue necrosis as shown by histological and histochemical studies, a decrease of connective tissue elements and acid mucopolysaccharide, inhibition of lowering of liver catalase activity, and a decrease of iron in the tumor and other organs. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=ShibuyaKoichi en-aut-sei=Shibuya en-aut-mei=Koichi kn-aut-name=渋谷貢一 kn-aut-sei=渋谷 kn-aut-mei=貢一 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学平木内科 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=85 cd-vols= no-issue=1-2 article-no= start-page=1 end-page=7 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1973 dt-pub=19730228 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Studies on the treatment of malignant tumors with fibroblast-inhibiting agents Part Ⅰ.
