Expression of both enzymes in the developing cerebellar plate in rat embryos was studied immunohistochemically. Neuroepitheliad cells in the ventricular layer expressed topo Ⅰ and topo Ⅱβ on embryonic day 15 (E16) and E16, respectively. On E 16-22, cells in the intermediate layer (IML) are known to undergo extensivc differentiation to become Purkinje cells and deep cerebellar neurons. Many IML cells, immunostained with not only anti-topo Ⅰ and-Ⅱβ but also-calbindin antibodies, were differentiating and migrationg to form the Purkinje cell layer. Cells in the external germinal layer (EGL) on E17, originating from the germinal trigone and spreading over the surface of cerebellar plate, expressed topo Ⅰon E17. Topo Ⅱβ immunoreactive cells, however, were not readily recognized in EGL untill E22. The topo Ⅱβ immunopositive cells resided in the ventral half of the layer, corresponding to the premigratory zone of postnatal EGL. These date suggest the involvement of topo Ⅰand Ⅱβ in DNA metabolism associated with cerebellar development in embryos, especially that of topo Ⅱβ in the processes of neuronal differentiation. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=OgawaMakoto en-aut-sei=Ogawa en-aut-mei=Makoto kn-aut-name=小川誠 kn-aut-sei=小川 kn-aut-mei=誠 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部解剖学第三講座 en-keyword=ラット小脳発生 kn-keyword=ラット小脳発生 en-keyword=小脳板 kn-keyword=小脳板 en-keyword=DNA トポイソメラーゼⅠ kn-keyword=DNA トポイソメラーゼⅠ en-keyword=DNA トポイソメラーゼⅡβ kn-keyword=DNA トポイソメラーゼⅡβ en-keyword=免疫組織化学 kn-keyword=免疫組織化学 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=95 end-page=104 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Stress raises intraocular pressure in rabbits kn-title=ストレスが眼圧に与える影響 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=Purpose. To test whether encagement and volume load as stressors influence the intraocular pressure in rabbits. Method. Rabbits were encaged for an hour in a horizontally-plastic tube with an internal diameter of 13.2 cm and a length of 33.2cm. After the encagement, rabbits received a rapid intraveonus drip infusion of 5% glucose solution, 20 ml per kilogram of body weight, for 5-6 minutes. All experiments were performed at the same time of day. Results. The intraocular pressure after encagement (11.2±3.0mmHg as a mean and standard deviation) was significantly higher compared with that of control rabbits without encagement (9.2±1.0mmHg, Student t-test,p=0.046). This differnce became signifficantly larger when volume load was exerted on both groups of rabbits (p=0.0007). Serum levels of cortisol, adrenaline, and nordrenaline were significantly elevated afte encagement (n=6, p=0.0002, p=0.027, p=0.030, respectively). Venous pressure of the ear tended to increase in rabbits after encagement (15.8±3.1mmHg) compared with that of control rabbits (8.5±2.3mmHg,p=0.11), and the difference became significant when volume load was placed on each group of rabbits (p=0.021). Conclusions.Encagement, especially in combination with volume losd, increased the intraocular pressure in rabbits. The elevation of peripheral venous pressure caused by an increase in serum catecholamines would underlie the elevation of intraocular pressure proh-ably through the increased outflow resistance. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=MiyazakiYoshinori en-aut-sei=Miyazaki en-aut-mei=Yoshinori kn-aut-name=宮﨑義則 kn-aut-sei=宮﨑 kn-aut-mei=義則 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部眼科学講座 en-keyword=stress kn-keyword=stress en-keyword=intraocular pressure kn-keyword=intraocular pressure en-keyword=cortisol kn-keyword=cortisol en-keyword=catecholamines kn-keyword=catecholamines en-keyword=venus pressure kn-keyword=venus pressure END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=85 end-page=93 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Present status and problems of visiting nurse station kn-title=病院基盤の訪問看護ステーションの問題点 ―患者67名からの検討― en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=We investigated the curent status of home nursing in our instiution, and visiting nurses' station "chime", to clarify current problems and possible improvements in home care service. A large number of the subjects were aged, and had various diseases usually involving cerebrovascular disorder. Patients requiring medical treatment comprised less than half, and it was considered that support was strong in the current home nursing siuation, particulrly. We examined the age status of persons who looked after the patients, and tce burden on women who provided care. Furthemore, problems with the prenent visit nursing syntem were evaluated by an anonymous questionnaire survey of patients and their attendants. Many of the subjects were worried or troubled about what to do about exacerbation or sudden chages of he patients' condition, the health of the caretakers, and the tight schedule of the caretakers' life. Based on the results of this questionnaire, we would like to improve the cooperation among members the visting nurse staff including doctors, and physiotherapists so that each of them may better play their roles and provide more appropriate nursing based on the wishes and needs of indvidual patients patients and their caretakers rather than those of the uniform service. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=MimuraYukari en-aut-sei=Mimura en-aut-mei=Yukari kn-aut-name=三村由香里 kn-aut-sei=三村 kn-aut-mei=由香里 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= en-aut-name=MakinoHirofumi en-aut-sei=Makino en-aut-mei=Hirofumi kn-aut-name=槇野博史 kn-aut-sei=槇野 kn-aut-mei=博史 aut-affil-num=2 ORCID= en-aut-name=OkaYouko en-aut-sei=Oka en-aut-mei=Youko kn-aut-name=岡庸子 kn-aut-sei=岡 kn-aut-mei=庸子 aut-affil-num=3 ORCID= en-aut-name=WatanabeKimiko en-aut-sei=Watanabe en-aut-mei=Kimiko kn-aut-name=渡辺君子 kn-aut-sei=渡辺 kn-aut-mei=君子 aut-affil-num=4 ORCID= en-aut-name=KanamiHifumi en-aut-sei=Kanami en-aut-mei=Hifumi kn-aut-name=金見一ニ三 kn-aut-sei=金見 kn-aut-mei=一ニ三 aut-affil-num=5 ORCID= en-aut-name=MoriwakiKazuhiko en-aut-sei=Moriwaki en-aut-mei=Kazuhiko kn-aut-name=森脇和彦 kn-aut-sei=森脇 kn-aut-mei=和彦 aut-affil-num=6 ORCID= en-aut-name=KatayamaEriko en-aut-sei=Katayama en-aut-mei=Eriko kn-aut-name=片山江里子 kn-aut-sei=片山 kn-aut-mei=江里子 aut-affil-num=7 ORCID= en-aut-name=FujiwaraHiromichi en-aut-sei=Fujiwara en-aut-mei=Hiromichi kn-aut-name=藤原弘道 kn-aut-sei=藤原 kn-aut-mei=弘道 aut-affil-num=8 ORCID= en-aut-name=SadakaneTakazi en-aut-sei=Sadakane en-aut-mei=Takazi kn-aut-name=定金卓爾 kn-aut-sei=定金 kn-aut-mei=卓爾 aut-affil-num=9 ORCID= en-aut-name=SatouYoshiyuki en-aut-sei=Satou en-aut-mei=Yoshiyuki kn-aut-name=佐藤能之 kn-aut-sei=佐藤 kn-aut-mei=能之 aut-affil-num=10 ORCID= en-aut-name=HayashiIppei en-aut-sei=Hayashi en-aut-mei=Ippei kn-aut-name=林逸平 kn-aut-sei=林 kn-aut-mei=逸平 aut-affil-num=11 ORCID= en-aut-name=SatouKamehiro en-aut-sei=Satou en-aut-mei=Kamehiro kn-aut-name=佐藤亀弘 kn-aut-sei=佐藤 kn-aut-mei=亀弘 aut-affil-num=12 ORCID= en-aut-name=OguraToshio en-aut-sei=Ogura en-aut-mei=Toshio kn-aut-name=小倉俊郎 kn-aut-sei=小倉 kn-aut-mei=俊郎 aut-affil-num=13 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学内科学第三講座 affil-num=2 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学内科学第三講座 affil-num=3 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会訪問介護ステーション affil-num=4 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会訪問介護ステーション affil-num=5 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=6 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=7 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=8 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=9 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=10 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=11 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=12 en-affil= kn-affil=明芳会佐藤病院 affil-num=13 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学保健管理センター en-keyword=在宅医療 kn-keyword=在宅医療 en-keyword=訪問看護 kn-keyword=訪問看護 en-keyword=脳血管障害 kn-keyword=脳血管障害 en-keyword=痴呆 kn-keyword=痴呆 en-keyword=ADL (activing of daily living) kn-keyword=ADL (activing of daily living) END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=71 end-page=83 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Electroencephalographic changes during open-heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation and hypothermia in children kn-title=体外循環と低体温法を用いた小児開心手術中の脳波変化に関する研究 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=An electroencephalographic (EEG) study eith a multi-channel digital record was carried out to investigate EEG changes and their spatial characteristics accompanying hypothermia and cerebral ischemia during open-heart surgery in children. Subjects consisited of 10 children, ranging from 1 year 6 months to 4 years 6 months old, who underwent open-heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation and hypothermia. The EEG changes were evaluated visually and analyzed using a computer. (1) A discontinuous EEG pattern was notted during cooling in addition to commonly observed finding inculuding a decrease in fast waves, slowing and amplitude reduction, and was considered caused by rapid and transient suppression of cerebral function. (2) Power spectral and topographical analyses revealed a prominent decrease in fast waves and a relative increase in slow waves during cooling. Durong cerebral ischemia, in contrast, an actual increase in slow waves and decrease in fast waves were observed. (3) We noted the characteristics of bilateral synchronous rhythmic high-voltage slow waves among various types of transient EEG abnor-malities. (4) EEG changes induced by hypothermia differed by brain region. (5) EEG changes induced by hypothermia were influenced not only by body temperature itself but also by the rate of change in body temperature. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=AkiyamaTomoyuki en-aut-sei=Akiyama en-aut-mei=Tomoyuki kn-aut-name=秋山倫之 kn-aut-sei=秋山 kn-aut-mei=倫之 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部小児神経学講座 en-keyword=小児心臓手術 kn-keyword=小児心臓手術 en-keyword=低体温 kn-keyword=低体温 en-keyword=体外循環 kn-keyword=体外循環 en-keyword=脳波分析 kn-keyword=脳波分析 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=61 end-page=69 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Aging and exocrine pancreatic function evaluated by endoscopic retrograde aspiration of pure pancreatic juice kn-title=膵外分泌機能の加齢による変化 ―内視鏡的純粋膵液採取法による検討― en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=I syudied the relationship between aging and exocrine pancreatic function by endoscopic retrograde aspiration of pure pancreatic juice (PPJ). Control subjects consisted of 65 out-patients presenting mild vague abdominal aymptoms who fulfilled the following three criteria : 1) good general condition with no known organic diseaes ; 2) no abnormality in the live, bile duct, pancreas. kidney or metabolism ; 3) no alcohol consumption. Nineteen patients with definite pancreatitis were also studied. PPJ was collected form within the pancreatic duct by endoscopic retrograde catheterization of the papilla for 10 minutes after a bolus intravenous injection of secretion (Secrepan, Eisai co., Ltd., 100 U/bpdy). Exocrine pancreatic function was evaluated three parameters as fillows : secretory volume, maximal bicarbonate concentration or bicarbonate output, and enyme (amyase and lipase) output. The ordinary duodenal secretin test was also performed. Exocrine pancreatic function (both duct-cell and acinar-cell function) was significantly reduced in the elderly. The age-associated reduction showed a different pattern between duct-cell and acinar-cell function. The degree of duct-cell dysfunction was significantly higher than that of acinar-cell dysfuntion in the elderly. Influence of aging on maximal bicarbonate concentration was more clearly demonstrated by PPJ aspiration than by the ordinary secretin test. Elderly controls showed as much exocrine dysfuction as patients with chronic pancreatitis, making it difificult to diagnose chronic pancreatitis based on the exocrine function test alone. Therfore, clinical symptoms and findings as well as imaging tests should be considered for the correct diagnosis. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=IshibashiTadaaki en-aut-sei=Ishibashi en-aut-mei=Tadaaki kn-aut-name=石橋忠明 kn-aut-sei=石橋 kn-aut-mei=忠明 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部第二内科教室 en-keyword=加齢 kn-keyword=加齢 en-keyword=膵外分泌機能 kn-keyword=膵外分泌機能 en-keyword=内視鏡的純粋膵液採取法 kn-keyword=内視鏡的純粋膵液採取法 en-keyword=セクレチン試験 kn-keyword=セクレチン試験 en-keyword=慢性膵炎 kn-keyword=慢性膵炎 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=51 end-page=60 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Characteristics of elderly patients who stopped receiving day service at a welfare facility kn-title=デイサービス中断の要因 ―女性の場合― en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=To cope with problems resulting from a rapidly aging society with a low birth rate, effective methods must be established to support home care services through a welfare service system. Characteristics of 40 elderly women living in S City with their familes who had stopped receiving "day service" (discontinued group) were compared with 40 age-matched elderly women selected among those regularly receiving the day service st the same facility. In addition, factors that influenced the women to stop receiving "day service" were studied. A questionnaire consisting of 20 items concerning various activies of daily living (ADL), instrumental ADL(IADL), health states, ecnomical coditions, and reasons for quiting the service was completed by all subjects. The results showed that ADL, IADL and health staes were significantly lower in the discontinued group than those of the control group. About half of the elderly in the dis-continued group quit the services in order to receive medical care at medical institutes. These women were older in age and lower ADL and IADl than those who quit for other reasons. Time needed to care for their husbands and housekeeping, were also reasons for qutiting the day service in the relatively younger group whose ADL snd IADL were well maintitained. Therefore, I concluded that "day service at welfare facilities" may become competitive with medical and health facilities already supporting home care services for the aged. if knowledge increases about social resources to support home care services. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=OkanoHatsue en-aut-sei=Okano en-aut-mei=Hatsue kn-aut-name=岡野初枝 kn-aut-sei=岡野 kn-aut-mei=初枝 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部保健学科 en-keyword=Elderly kn-keyword=Elderly en-keyword=Day Service kn-keyword=Day Service en-keyword=ADL kn-keyword=ADL en-keyword=IADL kn-keyword=IADL en-keyword=Stop receiving services kn-keyword=Stop receiving services END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=111 cd-vols= no-issue=3-8 article-no= start-page=37 end-page=49 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1999 dt-pub=19990831 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Relationship between pysical and visual image qualiy of asymmetric screen-film syatems kn-title=非対称増感紙-フィルムシステムの物理的画質と視覚的画質の関係 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=We investigated the relationship betwwn physical and visual image quality of asymmetric screen/film systems.
