Abstract 岡山大学グローバル・ディスカバリー・プログラムは英語だけで学位が取れる新しいプログラムであるが, 制度上他学部開講の授業も履修することが可能である。全学日本語の日本語コースで日本語「を」学ぶ学生とともに他学部で日本語「で」学ぶディスカバリー生も徐々に増えている。そこで他学部の授業や教養科目を履修するディスカバリー生を対象にアカデミック・ジャパニーズ科目を新規開講することになった。Backward Design，Differentiated Instruction，Learning Strategy Instruction の手法を利用し，授業をこなし単位を取得することを目標に，学生が限られた日本語能力で最大限に対応できる「自分に合う」学習ストラテジーを開拓できるコースの開発と履修状況を報告する。

Backgrounds and Characteristics of IB Students Enrolled at Okayama University: A 7-year Experience

Abstract The number of International Baccalaureate (IB) students applying to Japanese Universities is increasing. Okayama University is a Super Global Japanese National University which started IB admissions in 2012, and presently has 50 IB students in 11 faculties and 1 special program, in addition to 4 IB graduates. The IB journey began in 2012, and over a period of 7 years, Okayama University has taken multiple approaches to become IB student-friendly, by revising the IB admission policies as per IB student requirements; training faculty on IB education; exploring the differences in IB education and Japanese High School education; listening to IB student voices and familiarizing faculty about IB student backgrounds and characteristics. By providing IB student support, educating faculty and doing extensive IB research, Okayama University has established itself as a pioneer of IB admissions among the IB Organization, prospective IB students and parents, IB college counselors and other National Universities in Japan.

ZAINICHI KOREANS’ ETHNIC IDENTITIES AND ROLES OF ETHNIC ORGANISATION AND COMMUNITY

Abstract This paper discusses how Zainichi Koreans developed their identities both within and outside the realm of the ethnic community and ethnic organisations. This study uses qualitative multimethods research based on interviews with members and non-members of Zainichi Koirean organisations and field observations. The examination on Zainichi Koirean organisation members mainly concentrates on lived experiences of members from one of the ethnic organisations of Zainichi Koreans, Chongryun. This study finds that although some young Koreans separate themselves from the organisation and the homeland, they remain in the community. Many Chongryun Koreans share a collective ethnic consciousness, which was based on members’ love for the Chongryun schools. While there is an internal division within the community in terms of political views, many members still have a strong sense of group solidarity. On the other hand, the identities of non-member respondents are remarkably diverse. While some of them are assimilated into Japanese society, others retain strong ethnic identities. Their identities are less affected by any ethnic organisations and they rarely share collective memories with other Zainichi Koreans. This study shows that social networks and experiences of ethnic community individuals have a key role in determining their identities and the ways in which they live their lives.

Abstract 　本稿では、LMS を活用したアカデミック・ライティング科目の実践例を報告し、ライティング支援に関する今後の方向性等について検討した。本授業でのLMS 活用内容は主に、①資料（授業スライドおよび参考資料）の配布、②授業時の課題・コメント収集、③原稿（草稿、第一次原稿、最終原稿等）の提出およびフィードバック、の3 点であった。LMS の活用は、授業内外において学生と教員とのコミュニケーションを活発にし、ライティング課題の作成を円滑に進めるうえで極めて有効であったが、教員側がある程度、LMS 活用能力を備えていなければならず、また、コース作成の労力もそれなりにかかるため、今後、より多くのアカデミック・ライティング担当教員にLMS を活用してもらうためには、こうした課題を克服していく必要があると考えられる。
