government since the First World War, the state investment that became the driving force of economic development, the trends and positions of foreign capital, and the changes in the economic environment surrounding the Polish economy. @In the Second Republic, economic liberalism was a widely supported philosophy in the business world and academic society. However, in order to support very weak economic fundamentals, the government seized the key industry and tried to rebuild the economy. Although foreign capital played a very important role in economic development, Polish peoplefs distrust in foreign capital was strong. After the Great Depression, the Central Industrial Districti CUPj was built under the leadership of the government. However, with the outbreak of World War II, the formation of a strong core industrial base was suspended.
@After the Second World War, the government initially aimed to build a Peoples Democracy system based on pluralism. However, when the Cold War sharpened, rapid industrialization and collectivization of agriculture were forced. The Stalinist economic development strategy failed in a few years. Nevertheless, from the end of the 1950s, mining development and industrialization based on the mechanical and chemical industries were carried out again. This industrialization of capital goods sector-oriented production has distorted the peoplefs consumer life. However, in the long run, it cannot be denied that the industrialization of that time became the basis for the formation of the wide promising fields of the Polish industry. Since 1970, an open economic strategy has been adopted. Modernization was attempted by introducing licenses from the west. However, new investments did not lead to expansion of export, and cumulative debt increased. Herein, we report evidence that, after a stroke, these cells are capable of producing new neurons outside the olfactory bulbs. SVZ GFAP-expressing cells labeled by a cell-type-specific viral infection method were found to generate neuroblasts that migrated toward the injured striatum after middle cerebral artery occlusion. These neuroblasts in the striatum formed elongated chain-like cell aggregates similar to those in the normal SVZ, and these chains were observed to be closely associated with thin astrocytic processes and blood vessels. In the SNL group, expression of BDNF in the L4 (P < 0.05) and L5 (P < 0.01) superficial dorsal horn was significantly decreased compared to that in the sham group. CGRP protein in the L5 but not in the L4, dorsal horn was significantly decreased compared to that in the sham group (P < 0.01). After formalin injection, spontaneous pain responses in the SNL group were significantly decreased compared to those in the sham group (P < 0.05). OUMS-27. The current study aimed to explore the mechanism of 15d-PGJ(2)-induced apoptosis and inhibition of cell proliferation in OUMS-27 cells. The preliminary results of cDNA microarray analysis showed the down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-xL and up-regulation of pro-apoptotic Bax in the process of 15d-PGJ(2)-induced apoptosis. These changes were further confirmed at mRNA and protein levels by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis, respectively. Among cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, p21 was induced and up-regulated by 15d-PGJ(2), but p16 and p27 were not changed, suggesting that the involvement of p21 in inhibition of cell proliferation. Low-lying excited states in the superconductors due to the vortex, i.e., "vortex bound states," are examined in detail on the basis of numerical calculations. Two points are focused on: the effect of superconducting gap anisotropy on a vortex (Chapter 2) and the property of a vortex in quantum-limit situation (Chapter 3). The anisotropy of a superconducting energy gap has substantial effects on the structure of the vortex bound states. The local density of states around a vortex is calculated in a clean superconductor with the gap anisotropy within the framework of the quasiclassical theory of superconductivity. A characteristic structure of the local density of states, observed experimentally in the layered hexagonal superconductor 2H-NbSe(2) by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), is well reproduced by assuming an anisotropic s-wave gap. The local density of states (or the bound states) around a vortex in superconductors with gap anisotropy is interpreted in terms of quasiparticle trajectories to facilitate an understanding of the rich electronic structure observed in STM experiments. This reveals not only a rich internal electronic structure associated with a vortex core, but also unique ability of the STM spectroscopy. The quantum limit means that the superconducting coherence length is small in the limit, i.e., it is comparable to the atomic length order. Focusing on quantum-limit behavior, fundamental structure of a vortex is studied by self-consistently solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation. The discreteness of the energy levels of the vortex bound states is crucial for the vortex structure in the quantum limit. The following are revealed by the study of the quantum limit. The vortex core radius shrinks monotonically up to an atomic-scale length on lowering the temperature T, and the shrinkage stops to saturate at a lower T. The pair potential, supercurrent, and local density of states around the vortex exhibit Friedel-like oscillations. The local density of states inside a vortex core generally has particle-hole asymmetry induced by the existence of the vortex itself. Some essential properties of general vortices which are concealed within the conventional non-quantum-limit analysis can be extracted by the quantum-limit analysis. On the basis of the inherent particle-hole asymmetry inside vortex cores, it is discussed in this thesis that electric charging of a vortex core is originated from the Friedel oscillation of the Bogoliubov wave functions around the vortex (Chapter 4) . In lung transplantation, reimplantation response is still a serious problem. It causes severe respiratory failure which is refractory to mechanical ventilation in some cases. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of veno-venous ECMO after lung transplantation using a canine autotransplantation model. The autotransplantation model was created by keeping the left lung in a warm ischemic state for 2 h. After reperfusion, the right pulmonary artery was ligated. The following two groups were studied: Group 1, Control group, (no ECMO group) (n = 6). After reperfusion, both lungs were ventilated without ECMO. Group 2, ECMO group (n = 7). After reperfusion, veno-venous ECMO support was introduced with reduction of mechanical ventilation. In the no ECMO group, four of the animals died within 210 min after reperfusion. In the ECMO group, two of the animals died of severe pulmonary edema. Data of blood gas analyses (PaO2, PaCO2, and SvO2) after reperfusion were significantly better in the ECMO group, whereas there were no significant differences in both shunt fraction and pulmonary vascular resistance index. In anesthetized SHR, the penile and hindlimb vasculature were isolated and perfused, maximum dilation was induced, and a flow-pressure assessment and alpha 1-adrenoceptor agonist concentration-response curves were generated. Both the baseline and maximum constrictor responses were similar in the two beds of each strain, and overall the maximum structurally-based vascular resistance in SHR was higher than in SD rats. Our data suggests that the penile vasculature is not protected from the structural changes that take place in the other vascular beds in hypertension.
