Abstract 看護教育カリキュラムの改正により,臨床での実習時間はますます減る傾向にある。一方,臨床現場では,医療の高度化,複雑化が進み,看護基礎教育と現場のギャップは大きくなる傾向にある。今回38名の新人看護婦にアンケート調査を行い,新人看護婦の抱えるストレスについて明らかにした。その結果,新人看護婦の抱えるストレスは,看護技術に関するストレスが最も多く(94%),ついで,3交代勤務による不規則な生活(14%),患者とのコミュニケーション(11%)であった。この結果には教育課程の違いによる差は認められなかった。多くのストレスの中で働く新人看護婦は,32.3%が,体調についてあまりよくない,あるいは良くないと回答していた。また,様々なストレスにより,就職後1ヶ月で退職を考えているものが6名(17.6%)いた。看護婦になってよかったと答えたものは8名(82%)あり,その多くが,患者との関わりがうまくいったときにそのように感じていた。新人看護婦が,今後の看護基礎教育に望むことは,技術面の体験をさらに増やすこと,移植医療,ME機器の取り扱いなどであった。

Title Alternative Vonnegut's Brain Computer Laying stress on Galápagos and Hocus Pocus

Abstract As Kurt Vonnegut (1922--) has written his novels to give warnings about the growing danger of society, in the case of valuation, it is very important to understand what happened in his time and how his works resulted from a historic background. In the late of 1970's and 80's, society underwent a few big changes, for example, signs of communism collapse on a line of the Soviet Union's perestoroika, Japanese rapid economic growth, the unbalanced world economy by the heavy fall in stock prices in America and, in the field of science, the progress of computer technology in the use of a semiconductor instead of a vacuum tube. The mentioned above data were input into Vonnegut's Brain Computer. As a result, Galápagos was publishied in 1985, Hocus Pocus in 1990. In this paper, I analyzes Vonnegut's works from such a point of view, laying stress on Galápagos and Hocus Pocus.

Abstract The structure on the evaluation of street landscape by men is analyzed through semantic differential technique. Some characteristic streets in Okayama and Kurashiki cities are selected for the analysis and they are evaluated by many subjects using their photographs. The results are outlined on their profile curves. Then, they are analyzed through factor analysis and some communal factors are induced. It is explained what these communal factors mean. Finally, it is considered how to make beautiful and comfortable street landscape.

Abstract Groundwater has been recognised as the most cost-effective option of safe water supply to rural communities in Ghana. The demand for potable water has led to the drilling of a large number of boreholes in many parts of the country. To establish the threshold of groundwater development from storage in a major river catchment (Pra River) in South-West Ghana, studies on recharge to the weathered aquifer and statistical evaluations of specific capacity and potential yield have been carried out. The SACSMA conceptual hydrological modelling system was used for the recharge estimate. With recharge rate of 50 mm/yr, the natural groundwater resources in the basin was estimated to support a maximum withdrawal of 12 l/s for a 10 hour per day pumping. The groundwater resources potential of 1.6 l/sk㎡ could be considered the threshold of groundwater exploitation in similar river basins in South-West Ghana. A study into the relation between permeability and recharge under different conditions and scenarios is required to define their limiting role in groundwater resources development.

Title Alternative A Survey Study of Residential Awareness on Utilization Function of Agricultural Water and Its Maintenance --A case study in Niwase and Natsukawa of Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture

Abstract The agricultural water has manifold functions for farming at community level. However, along with the difficulties to maintain the agriculture water path that are caused by the decreasing of farmers and the aging of the society, the agricultural water is losing its functions even that as water resource for local community. This paper presents a survey of the residential awareness on regional water utilization to find the possibility for the maintenance of agricultural water path. Economic evaluation is tried for the regional warter utilization function. This study is carried out at a regional level that covers both farming households and non farmers. Following three points can be confirmed based on the results of questionnaire survey. Firstly, local citizens admit that the agricultural water does have some values (3,037 Yen per household per year). Secondly, the higher the environmental awareness is, and the longer the citizen has lived there, the higher evaluation to function of the agricultural water can be observed. Thirdly, even within those who is holding high evaluation to the agricultural water, it is thought to be quite difficult to maintain the agricultural water path due to the aging of the society and uneven distribution of the participants.

Abstract The pH values in the profiles of unburnt (agricultural land) soils were found to increase as a function of soil depth and burning (400 to 1000℃) of the soils increased average pH by 8%. The average sand content of the burnt (soil around brick kilns) soil profiles was increased by 245%, while 39 and 36% decreased the silt and clay contents. Soil organic carbon (Corg) in the unburnt soils (0-20 cm) at different agro-ecological zones in the eastern region of Bangladesh ranged from 0.8 and 1.4%, whereas the content of microbial biomass carbon (Cmic) in the studied unburnt soils ranged between 5 and 7% of the total Corg, suggesting that the microbial biomass releasing considerable amounts of carbon in soil while burning of the soils drastically reduced this contribution to about 1%. The values of soil Cmic in the unburnt soils were approximately 2 to 6 times higher in the topsoils than the subsoils (20-60 cm). Variable rainfall, temperature and soil fertility had an overriding influence, which was reflected by the average minimum (276 μg g(-1)) and maximum (439) amounts of soil Cmic in Moulvibazar and Cox' Bazar sites. The Cmic decreased upon soil burning by 92% of its original average value (346 μg g(-1)) in the soil profile of up to 100 cm. Burning of topsoils strikingly increased the Corg/Cmic ratio by about 6 to 9 times, while reduced the C/N ratio by about 1.5 to 2.5 times. The average loss of Corg, available and total N due to burning of the soils were 66, 72 and 44% (increase over average content of unburnt soil: IOAC), respectively, which suggests that the burning of the soils offset the essential roles of soil microorganisms, reduced soil fertility and soil microbial contribution.

Abstract 「田んぼの学校」は平成10年度の国土、文部、農水の3省庁合同で提唱された、環境教育の取組のことである。今年度、岡山県農林水産部耕地課が事業主体となり、そのモデル推進事業を岡山市福谷小学校で実施中。企画とその運営には福谷小PTAとボランティア団体から実行委員を構成してあたっている。私はその常任委員を務めているが、PTAと地域各位の多大な支援のもと年間12回もの多彩な開校が企画され現在までに9回実施、延べ551名の参加者を得ている。それぞれの企画は子供達と実行委員の希望で立案されたが、単なるイベントではなく参加者の自主的な活動によって成り立っている。親と子、そして地域の人々が一体となって架空の学校を育て上げており、この事例は今後の学校のあり方を考える上で大変興味深くかつ有益な活動である。

Abstract 本研究は、音楽感覚形成における「こもりうた」の機能について検討したものである。「こもりうた」は、人の成長の過程で最も早い時期に行われる音楽的コミュニケーション活動の一つであると共に、子どもと養育者の間に相互に行われる最も親密なコミュニケーション活動である。音楽的発達の視点からみると、このような「こもりうた」を媒介とした音楽的コミュニケーションは、個々人の音楽感覚の形成、すなわち、音楽的母語の形成に大きな影響を与えるものであるといえる。音楽の学習や理解は、その上に形成されるものである。したがって、音楽学習においては、子どものもつ固有の音楽感覚を認識すると共に、それに基づいた学習計画が作成・実践されることが必要である。

Abstract 本稿は、アメリカで近年取り組み始めた品性徳目教育について、著者の子どもたちをアメリカの小学校に通わせた体験、あるアメリカの小学校で実際に用いられている校内研修用資料、一般書店で販売されている教師用手引をもとに、品性徳目教育の内容と実際の学校での運用を具体的に紹介するものである。内容的には、アメリカの道徳教育の変遷、品性徳目教育と従来の道徳教育との比較や学校での実際の運用の仕方、クラス討論の仕方に関する資料を取り上げた。アメリカの学校で行われている品性徳目教育は、学校やクラスごとに定められたものではなく、学校区全体で定められ、幼稚園から高校まで共通となっている。小学校では、毎月一つずつ取り上げて討論し、道徳的思考力を高めるだけでなく、実際に行動できるように実行力を養うことに力が入れられている。係の仕事の評価、問題行動の更生のためにも品性徳目がベースとなっており、児童の問題行動について保護者とコミュニケーションを取る際にも役立っていた。未来の良き市民と育成することを目標に、親切でより温かみのある、責任感ある地域社会をつくるため、地域と学校が品性徳目を要として連携し、子どもを育んでいこうとする姿が窺えた。

Abstract 本研究は、現行の小学校学習指導要領社会科の内容編成を分析し、その問題点を明らかにするとともに、学習指導要領にとらわれることなく、市民的資質育成を目指して子供の科学的社会認識を形成する社会科を実践するためには、どのように教育内容を編成すればよいかを明らかにしようとするものである。そのために、本研究では特に中学年カリキュラムに注目する。そして、中学年では教育内容としていかなる科学的な概念や、法則・理論を選抜し配列すべきかという原理とその方法を、アメリカで発行されている小学校社会科教科書の分析を手がかりに明らかにしていく。分析の結果、中学年においては子供たちの生活する共同体に関わる科学的な概念を抽出してカリキュラムを編成する方法が考えられること、ただし、それは単純な環境拡大原理によるものではないことが明らかになった。

Abstract Major literary works are, as is generally admitted, a mirror in which multiple currents of any particular age are faithfully reflected. Upon reading Goldsmith's The Vicar of Wakefield (hereafter referred to as The Vicar, 1766), one cannot resist an impression that this is especially true of the work. What strikes us is a pervasive atmosphere of harmony between man and nature and a keen sense of poetry to be enjoyed heartily in the characters' daily life. These are reflected in the narration by Primrose the protagonist and Anglican clergyman. True we see in the work signs of an uneasy relationship between the haves and the have-nots due in part to the abuse of power by the former at the sacrifice of the latter; and due in part to the age's legacy of surviving brutality, the miserable condition of life, and the resulting social ills in the lower order of society. Also, we discern in it signs of the incipient decay of the traditional village community. Still, the village life retains its wholeness and integrity in the fabric of a close-knit human network based on its agricultural way of life.

Abstract The area of cognitive and interactive perspectives in educational administration have been received increasing attention. The purpose of this study was to review on research of shcool administrators' cognitive ability and social behavior in the school organization. Reseach on school administrators' social behavior was reviewed in terms of an analysis of the work behavior, interpersonal communication, and social skill. Research on school administrators' cognitive ablity was reviwed in terms of self-efficacy, stress, burn-out and problem-solving expertise. Theories of social and cognitive psychology were applied to explain the behavior of school administrators. Finally, the review was discussed the changes directed at improving the quality of shcool administrators' cognitive ability and social behavior in terms of organizational development.

Title Alternative Teaching paraphrase as a communication strategy: issues and a proposal

Abstract This paper reviews the literature on practical and empirical approaches to teaching paraphrase as a co㎜unication strategy and finds that the notion of paraphrase in the studies has been very limited. It then attempts to investigate what it means to paraphrase by analyzing paraphrastic expressions used in a monolingual dictionary and a pedagogical grammar book. This analysis is hoped to yield a list of some techniques or patterns of paraphrase, both at and beyond the lexical level, which second language learners may profitably exploit to avoid and solve communication problems they encounter in speech production. The paper makes a pedagogical proposal that paraphrase exercises should be integrated into English lessons, on a regular basis, in which learners are encouraged to paraphrase every single sentence in their textbook by using some of the paraphrastic techniques identified. The plausibility of this proposal has partly been tested by an attempt to paraphrase sentences in some textbook materials.

Abstract The area of cognitive and interactive perspectives in educational administration is receiving increasing attention. This review focuses on research of cognitive and interactive perspectives in educational administration published since 1990. The domain approach has two fold. The one is teachers' social behavior in the schools in terms of self-efficacy, empowerment, collective-efficacy, and relationship with principals. The another is the characteristics of teachers' interaction in terms of social communication skills, social support, stress, interpersonal conflict, principals' leadership, and relationship with school counselors. Theories of social and cognitive psychology have been applied to explain the behavior of teachers in school. The review discusses changes directed at improving the quality of teachers' social behavior and interaction.

Abstract 本論は、コミュニケーション方略のうち、比較的意思伝達上の効率が高いと思われる「言い換え(パラフレイズ)」について、通常名詞で表現される概念に限定して、パラフレイズにはどのようなプロセスが含まれるのか、また、それはどのように言語的に実現されるのかを明らかにすることを通して、パラフレイズというコミュニケーション方略の使用を指導する際のシラバスを作成すること、すなわち、コミュケーション方略の指導を英語を教えることの一つの教育内容領域として設定することの可能性と問題点とを検討することをその目的とするものである。

Abstract This study is motivated directly by the very limited scope of the traditional communication strategy research in that it places exclusive emphasis on lexis and indirectly by the inadequacy of some hasty attempts, which followed the seminal work by Domyei (1995), to investigate into the effectiveness of strategy instruction without paying due attention to the nature of strategic processes involved in speech production. It focuses on the process of changing the grammatical subject (i.e. paraphrase beyond the lexical level), as a means of avoiding and/or solving problems in speech production. The process is investigated by analyzing the relationships between the original sentences and their paraphrastic counterparts given in a monolingual dictionary. The investigation identifies various ways in which linguistic elements in the original sentence are manipulated to yield a new subject.
