| Abstract | In this study, chest X-ray and electrocardiogram by means of the conventional 12 lead and Nehb's lead, were taken in 96 persons aged more than 50 years. Fifty-two of them showed left ventricular hypertrophy upon the roentgenographic diagnosis. A comparative study was undertaken between the X-ray and E. C. G. It would seen that the following values may be available for criteria of the left ventricular hypertrophy.(1mv=10mm) 1)S(v1)+R(v5)≧35mm 2) S(v1)+R(v6)≧28mm 3) R(I)≧5mm 4) R(I)+S(III)≧8mm 5) Q(avR) or S(avR)≧8mm 6) R(avL)≧5mm 7) S(v1)≧10mm
8) R(v5)≧25mm 9) R(v6)≧20mm 10) R(A)≧10mm 11) R(D)≧8mm 12) R(J)≧7mm 13) S(J)≧9mm
