| Abstract | サクセスフルセルフ®は，心理・行動上の問題を予防し，心の健康や社会的適応を育む ことが報告されている心理教育である。小学校での全学年実施をねらいとした“サクセスフ ル・セルフ2011（児童生徒版）”を改訂した“サクセスフル・セルフ2012（児童生徒版）”を， レッスンの間隔や実践者，学校規模が異なる２校の全児童を対象に実践を行った。介入前後 に，行動および心理社会的要因から成る自記式調査を行い得た児童1007 名を対象に，効果 に関する検討を行った。その結果，いずれの学校の男女とも，介入前から介入後で，統計的 有意に，衝動性・攻撃性のコントロール，問題行動の誘いを断る自己効力感，社会性の向上， うつ傾向，いじめの減少が見られた。また学年別の検討において，いずれの学年でもなんら かの肯定的な変化が示された。以上より，全児童を対象に学校全体で本プログラムに取り組 むことは，小学生の心理・行動上の問題を予防し，心の健康を育む可能性があることが示唆 された。 |

| Abstract | 教師に求められる能力，態度等について検討するため，岡山大学教育学部等に在籍する学生を対象に調査を実施した。調査では，岡山大学教育学部教員養成コア・カリキュラムにおいて育成を目指している4 つの力，岡山市教育委員会が設定している教職員に求める資質能力，岡山県教育委員会が設定している教員像をもとに作成した20の項目について，各内容の重要性の程度の評定を求めた。その結果，「子どもとのコミュニケーション力」や「子どもの変化に気づく力」などの評定値が高く，学生たちは，これらの能力，態度等を教師に求められるものとして重視していることが明らかにされた。ただし，評定結果は，学校種により異なり，「わかりやすい授業をする」については中・高校教諭を志望する学生の評定値が高く，「子どもとのコミュニケーション力」や「だれに対しても笑顔で明るくかかわる」などについては幼稚園教諭を志望する学生の評定値が高かった。 |

| Abstract | This retrospective study evaluated the safety and efficacy of using polidocanol with X-ray fluoroscopy for percutaneous sclerotherapy of venous malformations of the limbs, head, and neck. The subjects were 16 of 18 patients who presented to our department with venous malformations. Two patients were excluded because they were unlikely to benefit from the treatment. Of the 16 included in the study, 1 could not be treated because of inaccessibility, and another was lost to follow-up. Among the 14 cases that we were able to follow-up, 11 cases had had pain as their primary symptom. Following treatment, this symptom remained unchanged in 1 patient, was improved in 4, and had disappeared in 6; however, there was a recurrence of pain for 3 of these patients. Two patients had sought treatment for cosmetic purposes; following treatment, the lesion disappeared in one and showed a significant reduction in the other. The remaining patient presented with a primary symptom of mouth bleeding, which disappeared following treatment. There were no critical complications. Percutaneous sclerotherapy of venous malformations using polidocanol is safe and effective, and permits repeat treatments. The efficacy is especially good for resolving pain, and complications are minor. It is desirable to use fluoroscopy for these procedures |

| Abstract | In September 1921, the Seattle Progressive Citizens’ League was formed with the help of the North American Japanese Association. Led by Haru Osawa, the Secretary, the League started various activities to increase the political awareness of the second-generation Japanese Americans. Haru’s eagerness and leadership ability aroused the hope of people for the future of the League. George Yamaoka, the Secretary of the University Student Club, was also eager for the empowerment of the status of the Japanese Americans in those years. In November 1923, however, Haru Osawa departed this life too young. George Yamaoka also left Seattle to go on to the graduate school in Washington D.C. After the death of Haru Osawa, the League continued to try to improve the conditions of the Japanese Americans in Seattle. It made efforts to increase the membership. It tried to increase the voter turnout of the Japanese Americans. And it sent delegates to the conference of the American Loyalty League, its counter part in California. The vigor of the years when Haru Osawa had been leading the League, however, was gradually lost. In 1928, James Sakamoto began to publish the Japanese American Courier and the League was reorganized under the leadership of Clarence Takeya Arai. |
