母親付き添いによる小児の長期入院が家族に及ぼす影響 ―登園・登校拒否をきたした病児の同胞6名の家族状況―

母親が病気の子どもに1か月以上付き添う場合の家に残されている同胞への影響について研究を行ってきた。今回、その同胞172ケースのうちで登校拒否があった6ケースについて子どもの特徴、家族構成、家族状況等を検討した。その結果、6ケースのうち3ケースが9歳の女児であった。同居家族は1ケースで、他は核家族であった。この同胞たちは、「笑顔がなくなる」、「寂しそうな表情をする」など何らかの精神的不安を表していた。登校拒否の始まった時期は全て入院後1か月未満の時であった。登校拒否が一時的でなく、退院後にも長びいたケースは父親と女児のみが家に残されていた。このような結果から核家族が多い現在小児看護を行う場合、残された同胞への配慮を早期から行いながら病児や母親の援助を行うことが重要である。

In this study, we investigated six cases in which students refused to go to school after their mothers'staying in a hospital in order to take care of a sick brother or sister. Analysis was done mainly on the sibling's characteristics family structures and family conditions. Three of the six cases involved nine year old girls. One case involved an extended family and the others involved nuclear families. The siblings showed mental anxiety such as no longer being able to smile and/or to express loneliness. The duration of refusing to go to school had appeared within one month after the mother began to stay in the hospital and almost all of the cases were transient, having recovered before the mother came back to live at home, but one case continued even after her mother returned home. These results suggest that nurses should give appropriate advices and suggestions to the mother of a sick child being hospitalised about the care of a sibling left at home.
