| Abstract | In order for companies to innovate through business co-creation, it is necessary to explore a wide range of external knowledge and technologies. However, there is no clear answer as to how much time should be spent for exploration. Under these circumstances, companies must take into account constraints such as the amount of management resources that can be invested, and make decisions about the time to spend for exploration. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the process of how companies that have introduced corporate accelerator program recognize the relationship between the program period and the results of business co-creation, and how they make decisions about the program period. We conducted a case study of several companies that have introduced corporate accelerator program in Japan. In addition, this paper established a hypothesis about decision-making about the time for exploration from case studies.
