| Abstract | Experiments were performed to examine the action of high hydrostatic pressure on the isolated frog heart ventricle. The refractory period of the heart muscle prolonged by about 20 per cent. It seems also that cardiac ventricle under high pressure responds either all or none to electrical stimulus.
