Recently chlorpromazine is being widely used in clinics and the literature on its side effect is quite abundant, but the report on the acute intoxication caused by this drug is extremely rare. In the present paper we have made a case report on an acute intoxication encountered with a schizophrenic patient who took 1,750 mg of chlorpromazine in an attempt to commit suicide, but was cured about three days later. Rare experiences we had with this case have been discussed.
