Experimental studies in both vitro and in vivo on the relation of the Heinz body in erythrocytes with the drug having NH(2)-radical, isonicotinic acid (INAH) and the nitromin (NMO) have been attempted and the results obtained were reported as follows: 1. There seems to be practically no influence on the formation of Heinz body in erythrocytes in vitro of the concentration less than INAH 100mg/dl or NMO 10mg/dl of these drugs used. However, it was found that the formation of Heinz body in erythrocytes could be accelerated in vitro of the drug concentration above INAH 500mg/dl or NMO 50mg/dl. 2. Heinz body in erythrocytes of the circulating blood did not appear when rabbits were administered orally of INAH (4mg/kg pro die) for 17 days; while the Heinz body would show up in the erythrocytes when NMO was intravenously given to rabbits for 30 days, (0.5mg/kg pro die for a period of 18 days and 2mg/kg pro die for remaining 12 days).
