Title Alternative
Clinical studies on bronchial asthma Part 2. Late skin and bronchial responses to allergens in patients with bronchial asthma
Author
Saito, Katsuyoshi
Abstract
Late skin and bronchial responses to house dust and Candida allergens were examined in 301 patients with bronchial asthma. The results were as follows: 1) Late skin and bronchial responses to house dust extract were related to serum IgE levels, basophil reactivity to anti-IgE and RAST score of house dust, 2) Late skin and bronchial responses to Candida extract were related to precipitating antibodies to Candida, although these responses were not related to serum IgE levels and basophil reactivity to anti-human IgE. These results suggest that the late response to house dust allergen was mainly elicited by IgE-mediated type Ⅰ allergic reaction and that the late response to Candida allergen was in part elicited by precipitating antibody-mediated type Ⅲ allergic reaction.
